Proportions are good and in the SIC range. Technically, 40.6 pav is better as it give out more brightness. Youll need to check the scopes first. All these numbers have no meaning without the scopes.

Can I ask a noob question ~
~ what are the main numbers for sic spec
~ in event ASET is not available, can we rely on sic spec to get relatively good diamonds?

Appreciate a lot!

There are no main numbers, just preferred ranges but even then, it does not guarantee u a good stone

Still need to see ASET. Those with good ASET than check the cutting range whether SIC or IC.

Just curious, if u find a stone with good aset and symmetry, would u still be bothered by numbers?

If can see the actual diamond, than ASET and symmetry also not too important already. As you always say, don't pay for what you cannot see! :s13:

My earlier comment of ASET first than numbers, is for online filtering where one cannot see the actual stone.

Got these scope photos from JP. There are some white patches on the actual photos at the bottom of the 1st photo and top of the 2nd photo. Is that due to diamond cut or light reflection?

Thats the reflection.. not any issue. JP's SIC and signature cuts including the octagons are already top top specs for cut.

No worries. Sometimes looking for the right stone can be just as big a process.
Looks great. All the best with the proposal

Hi guys,

Past quotes....
0.58 G VS1 $3,250 (ideal)
0.56 G VVS2 $3,300 (ideal)
0.58 E VS2 $3,500 (ideal)
0.51 G VVS2 - $3,500
0.54 F VS1 - $3,850

Is it really cheap? Well they paid for high color and clarity, if that’s what u want.

U need to factor in $300+ for recertification

Is it really a SIC? Perhaps but it’s not the typical SIC preferred angles by JP. I’m not saying it does not happen. It’s just too many variables for me.

Can u bargin it down?

Thank you Miltah for the fast response. How much will you recommend me to bargain it down to? And if I buy it, do you suggest me to bring the ring down to JP for recertification and also change of ring setting? Because I am just interested in the diamond itself and looking to get a new setting.

There’s very little value in second hand, at the same time u dun wanna low ball. But if u can get at $2.8-2.9, it would be good....

But that’s dependent on recertification coming back with the same color and clarity grading.

Since the original ring was from JP, I would also ask that JP offer u a custom ring job at $550-600... if not, maybe u can then bargain it lower.
It would not make sense if JP charges u over $1k for the ring job
