Proposal Ring

Anyone getting one soon?

So many in the market don't know which to choose. GoldHeart and Lee Hwa is my choice now.

Budget around 1k

Finally collected my decagon ring!! Preordered my decagon diamond from Jannpaul afew months back. It took almost 2 months for them to custom cut it out and another month to craft the ring. Diamond is a 0.52 G VVS2 (originally meant to be F-G, VS1-VS2 range). I benefitted for the higher clarity as they capped the cost to a VS1 clarity. So I kinda got a free clarity upgrade :D

Thank you all for the recommendations, the wait was worthwhile, their service has been excellent but I think everyone knows that already from the past threads. At least my proposal plan now will work with phase 3 opening up so decided to finally collect my ring; heres my review thus far:

Their white series collection are all significantly brighter and firey than even their SIC. Price wise IMO is extremely worth the trade-off. It's damn sparkly at all angles man. I brought the ring to different places with different types of lights. The decagon lives up to its name and sparkles away. Whenever I move the diamond ring abit or my head angle, it will have alot of those on/off bling effect. I don't have a creative mind and chose one of JP's ring design I found on their instagram in their petite series. The small diamonds on the bands are decagon cuts too and they're all cut like wins as well (I have an ASET without the backing if anyone wishes to borrow). You need to face up towards the light or use your handphone as the backlight.

I've brought my ring around to various jewelry shops, mostly all around in Ion and in each shop it really just outshines everything I walked past. The decagon small diamonds were a big surpriser compared to what shops have as small diamonds. They sparkle as much as my main piece and completes the ring well

Another thing I noticed is the workmanship as my eyes can tell is extremely symmetrical vs even big brands. Big thumbs up to JP! Was serviced by 3 people from JP; Chloe, Eugene and Avery.Anyway, here's a video of my ring under sunlight taken from a camera phone. Good luck to everyone else there and my findings to help you out.

P.S. My decagon is a G color and like the rest of the other bros said, their white series G Color still looks very white. For those who are thinking of the G color too, you can see my video for ref.

Just wondering if anyone had any problem with JP’s platinum ring?
Anyone with bent prong/ ring went out of shape just after a year of use?

No problem with my platinum ring from JP.
My ring is a platinum from JP as well. Been wearing it for 2 years with no issues. If you mean bending, do you mean like this PS thread?

If yes, this can happen to any kind of metal, depending on how much you wear it. Getting snagged with linen is one of the biggest cause of it when I was doing research back then. Most of the time it can happen when you put your hands in your pocket. Afew times my prongs got caught in my cotton pants pocket before. If you feel it snagging against something, don't pull harder. I do love the platinum metal finish after wearing for so long.

Btw, while on this topic, was thinking of upgrading my current ring to one of their white series. Does JP buy back their old casing? Am thinking of a new design for one of their white series.

Thanks for your feedback!
Ive seen all their white series. Visually with my own eyes they surpasses their SIC. . Deciding between the oval and the cushion. My gf has mostly ovals and cushion ring pics saved on her phone. Any advise for which to pick? I can't ask her as its meant to be a surprise proposal.

I purchased an oval! Still waiting for the rough to be sourced and cut. That's probably the main consideration, all JP ovals now have a wait time for 3 to 4 months, so if you are in a rush don't get the oval.

So pretty!!! The diamond is super sparkly! Wish I had the decagon too... it wasn't out back then when I bought my ring :/

What's the ring design you're choosing? IMO, if its a solitaire, I think the oval will look nicer. I usually see cushions on halo ring designs. So I've always associated cushions with halo rings. And If I'm not wrong, ovals will look bigger too for the same carat weight :D

I see most people buy from JP. Just curious if anyone has any experience between celestial and JP. I’m currently back and forth between the two..

If I’m not wrong, celestial does not provide you with scope (ideal and aset) images, just GIA/AGS cert. There is only so much the cert can tell you, you may or may not get a good diamond although on paper it is a triple excellent.

The number of facets are also different so it’s really hard to compare. I chose Jannpaul as they are transparent and happy to provide scope images etc. Thus I feel more confident that I am getting a good diamond for the price I’m paying.
Celestial is priced at a premium and unless I am confident of the scope images (which they do not provide), I am hesitant to commit to it although it looks really great also.
