Just received the certificate for my JP custom cut decagon.

Appreciate if anyone can take a look at it! Thank you!

I think .6 will be around 5k range. I'm still amazed at their white series range. Bought their Oval hearts and arrows and until now, I can't stop staring how bright it is. Is it me or do you guys sometimes play with your wife's ring? When I see it under the sun, its literally blinding. lol

I feel you.

Just collected my Decagon ring from JannPaul. It looks stunning and the packaging + ring box looks awesome too.

Can't wait to use it for my proposal next week :)

Unfortunately, petite series doesn't really work for my gf so I went with the normal sized ring instead :)

Hi, I'm looking for an oval shaped diamond. My gf told me she wants the oval instead of the usual round diamonds. Is there anything I shld know when buying ovals? What's a good budget to set aside for the ring?

Request to see their oval 8 white series under natural outdoor light vs normal ovals. If The decagon looks like the epitome of crazy light bling the oval you can say the oval has huge large chunky bling and it’s even brighter than the best super ideal cut rounds you can find. I’m more of a decagon person but go have a look at it in person you would never look at normal ovals the same again.

just bought a lab grown oval-shaped diamond engagement ring from a fairly new company called "Authica J". Before that I did visit JannPaul & Michael Trio after seeing the conversations going on round here, and later got targeted by their instagram ads. Better priced than JP/Michael but to be expected cause they are new.

Guys, sharing a video of my Decagon and welcome any opinion. Their diamond specialist Avery did a video a decagon I shortlisted which I did not expect. Was pleasantly surprised she took the effort to do this for me. I actually first went to JP last year and due to some life changes, had to delay my purchase until this year. Diamond is a 0.49 G VVS1, and from my understanding, 0.49ct is a rare size? I'm thinking if I should wait it out for a lower clarity as I'm not fuss over the clarity since their VS1-VS2 will be eye clean. Diamond choice will definitely be the Decagon. I saw it outdoors like some of you suggested and its damn bright. I thought it actually looks even better outdoors than indoors. lol

Not all lab grown diamonds are the same though. From what I read online, main problems with lab growns right now is that many new diamond growers are rushing into growing them and shortcuts in the process. This creates bad quality lab diamonds and can many issues like off hues and stria. I think the more common problem is stria. It makes the diamond look fuzzy from the many ''growth lines?''. It won't be obvious in jewelry shop lights btw. It's only when you see it in softer light settings. This is a good read on problems of lab grown diamonds to avoid - https://www.diamondscreener.com/edu...o-look-for-when-buying-a-lab-created-diamond/

That's also why all these sellers are certifying these lab growns in IGI certificate, which is a really crap lab. I would only stick to GIA or AGS. I hope yours is not IGI. Like I see the ones from Micheal Trio are all IGI.

Another point to consider is the difference in the Cut. JP's ovals are the oval hearts and arrows. The other ovals you're comparing against is the normal oval which looks very different (you see the oval video from the earlier post). Normal ovals have alot of light leakages (no hearts & arrows). I think you're might be confusing that all oval cuts are the same.

detailed thanks! luckily the one i've got is GIA certified; they had both GIA/IGI certified ones and explained the difference in certification for both.

The Decagon is damn shiny. I'm surprised they have a 0.49ct and it was still available. It's a very rare carat weight as the next big jump is 0.50ct. So cutters would usually rather cut a 0.50ct than a 0.49ct for more $$.

I asked the experts on this thread some time back (thanks HansenDeHardwarezone, chrislenoodle, KingKenny and Son-Y-noS), and I eventually got Jann Paul's Decagon Round 10 White Series. The process was really really fast for me, apparently I'm one of the lucky ones: the digital renders took one week, the plastic cast arrived in one week, and the custom cut diamond (which I was told would take two to three months) arrived in the following week...surprise surprise. They said that most likely, they had enough leftover rough diamond to cut my Decagon, hence it came so quickly. The ring setting wasn't even ready at this point - gonna be another four to six weeks from now, although they've already ordered it.

Sharing the images here (taken using my handphone, S10+ doesn't have the best camera) for reference, in case any of you are still undecided! The cut is really on another level. Of course, you won't be looking through the scope when your partner's wearing it, so let them show you the diamond's performance in normal daylight / office light. I suppose the scope images let you sleep a little better when you know that your money is well-spent (guess this is subjective).

ASET Scope:
Diamond Magnifier (top) - this is your "starburst" 10 arrows:
Diamond Magnifier (bot) - this is your 10 Hearts & Arrows:
