You'd be better off waiting for a design that your girlfriend loves, instead of wasting money on a simpler setting and getting them to recast.

Thanks. You're right. I've wait for the matching oval pairs to come. I guess good things have to wait :s8: The oval trilogy is going to be damn sparkly man. 3 of those hearts & arrows oval cuts are gonna have madness sparkles. lol

It will be stunning!! I have an oval three stone coming too but my side stones are 2 matching 0.3 pears :) it will take a total of 4 months but it will be well worth the wait.

Finally proposed with my decagon from JP :) was a little worried cause it was a 0.7+ and her sister had a 1ct round from somewhere else but turned even her sister kept commenting how it was so much more beautiful and eyecatching over family dinner. Thanks for the recommendations bros, everybody was gawking over her ring and it was so sparkly over her sister's 1ct. thanks to all the shifu bros and reccos. She absolutely adores it and the wait was so worthwhile

mine was a 0.7+ too.

just proposed and it was a yes!

still no idea how mine sparkles differently though because the picture i took did not look sparkly. :s13:

That's the decagon right? Congrats!
Try take it under a direct light source. Your diamond is like pointing to something dark grey like wall. lol. So it will reflect a dark grey wall

Can any experts analyze the scope pics I have received? The red middle portion doesn't look normal. :s11:

Apologies I do not have enough post counts to post images.

Thanks guys for all the help! Been lurking on this thread for awhile and its finally my turn to propose. I bought a 0.6ct white series cushion hearts and arrows from JP. I highly recommend looking for Avery. She helped me from the start in custom cutting this piece and doing up my ring design. Very pleased with the entire process and final ring.

The Cushion diamond looks very bright and I followed the advice on some of the bros recommendation and settled for a G color. The diamond still looks very white man. The small diamonds on the bands are the decagon melees that are equally as stunning. Can't really see in the photos but those small babies are damn sparkly too. The row of small diamonds along the prongs are their standard melees though. Avery said that they dont have the decagons cut so small but they do help to handpick the good stuff themselves.

Sharing some of my pics :)

Hi, do you mind to share how much does your setting cost? Was it around 2.8k? Thanks!

Ya. Did you get the same design?? I rem if I kept the decagon melees and do without the inner row of diamonds, it would be about 1k less. But I thought to fork out that 1k to make the setting extra bling. Haha

Hahaha really worth the extra 1k! Nope, I haven’t confirm on my setting design but because Avery showed me your exact setting design when I asked her for more ideas on setting design. So I thought this look familiar! :D

Do you find the side diamonds pokey to your other fingers?

I was worried about that too. Did you try on the actual ring they have in the same design? Avery advised me that some girls might feel more of the the diamonds poking depending on their finger shape. I guess the fleshy finger type might feel the protrusion more.

They had the same design ring for my gf to try on to test. My gf felt its ok and not uncomfortable. Note that there are different variations of the designs too.

Like this one has those ''cut'' patterns on the band. Avery said this type you can feel more of the ring.

I did mine abit different without the ''cuts''. So the band is smooth like this one. My gf also prefers the more band to be more simple.

As mentioned by aameetingnow, there are variations to the petite series ring setting.

The one that Avery showed me, which I believe is the initial variation of the petite series that comes with 4/multiple decagon melees on each side protruding out, with milgrain details on the knife edge shank, therefore it felt pokey and a bit uncomfortable when worn.

If you get something like what aameetingnow has gotten for his SO, where the melees are more buried into the shank, I believe it should be more comfortable.

To be sure, better book an appointment and see if they have it for you to try it out for yourself (or bring your SO to try it on if it’s not a surprise proposal) to see which you/your SO feel most comfortable in.

The one that I tried it on is another variation of yours (where the melees are protruding out, so it kinda pokes into the sides of my pinky and middle finger). Yours is with the decagon melees buried into the shanks and without the milgrains, so I believe it is more comfortable than the one I tried it on.

Yours is really nice! I shall ask Avery to take a look again during my next appointment. Thanks for sharing the link :)

Ohh nice! Didn’t know they had another variation that’s smoother.

Anybody seen the range of D to G of similar white series diamonds? Can you guys tell the difference with naked eyes?
