Finally proposed with my decagon from JP :) was a little worried cause it was a 0.7+ and her sister had a 1ct round from somewhere else but turned even her sister kept commenting how it was so much more beautiful and eyecatching over family dinner. Thanks for the recommendations bros, everybody was gawking over her ring and it was so sparkly over her sister's 1ct. thanks to all the shifu bros and reccos. She absolutely adores it and the wait was so worthwhile

I suggest doing more research and see some of the edu videos.

That's quite a disaster diamond. Its steep deep cut with a very high crown angle. You're gonna have a lot of light leakage problems. Not to mention the diamond gonna look smaller for its carat weight. There's so much more problems with it. For example, it's a 1.00ct with indented naturals right on the girdle. Do you know what happens if it chips off?

Here's a compiled list from bro freewilly5000.

Posting on new thread. These are very helpful resources and added new white series links.

Like Miltah said, got potential. Nice find! Proportions are great. Just need to confirm if your jeweler has the ASET to verify the light performance. If you they don't, you can try borrowing the ASET scope from some of the bros. There are some bros who have their own here.

Hi guys! Newbie here. I would be very grateful for the views of the diamond experts on the two diamonds below - particularly on the inclusions. I was quoted the same price for both. The staff who attended to me said he personally prefers the bigger one.

AGS 104112654069 - JP Round 10, 0.730, D, VVS2

AGS 104112541047 - JP Round 10, 0.767, D, VS2

Hello! Not sure if it is ok for me to post on this thread. I need help with whether the below diamond quoted is reasonable. I’m actually looking for a pair to make earrings with but I have totally 0 idea for diamonds so I have no idea what to compare with.

Available: 0.428ct Colour G, VVS2 $3,150 each

Pre-order: 0.37-0.39ct Colour F-G, VVS1-VS2 $2,700-$3,000 each

Both Round10.

Thanks a lot to anyone who can kindly help me ☺️

Wow. The Round10 for earrings. The diamonds are gonna be very bling. I'm surprised they are able to cut the high 0.3ct++ for you, given how rare they are. Price seems to be about there for that carat.

I know the white series are meant to perform at all different (moving) angles. Let me know when you collected your earrings! I'm thinking of trying the white series to either make a earring or pendant too.

Yes of course! I decided to do the pre-order 0.37-0.39ct. I think it might take some time though, not sure how long it would take. I’m doing a solitaire earring with removable square halo. Was thinking of getting somewhere around 0.4ct (Lee Hwa one cost about 8k plus). But the 0.4ct in Jannpaul seems a little too big for my ears for everyday wear. Will share with you when I get my earrings! Super excited for this.

I feel so happy I got to know about JannPaul from this thread. It’s gonna save me some money for quality diamonds. If all goes well for this earring, I’m actually looking to get a JannPaul customised engagement ring. I am looking at this design https://www.chaumet.com/en/josephine-amour-d-aigrette-solitaire-0-50ct-j84089
the price is more than $14,000 for 0.5ct VVS1, Colour G. I think with this price I should be able to get nicer diamond at JannPaul.

JP white series gaining a lot of popularity on pricescope especially the decagon. All 4 cuts look amazing though I really curious how they made it so that it look so much brighter under normal light than the SIC and even sparkle like crazy on spotlight. From a physics perspective.. Gf preordered a pair of decagon earrings and round 10 e ring. Hope they can arrive soon.

You'll be surprised. I was just like you last time. Was drawn to the Tiffany brand and at all the chain stores. Then read up more about the cut quality and realized all these brands don't even use the ASET scope and some of the proportions was so bad. I was much better off going with JP.

$14k for 0.5ct G VVS1 is crazy... for that price, can get a 1ct in JP already.

It's the way Paul designed them. In a nutshell, virtual facets were known to break down flashes into smaller ones to look to have small flashes. But the way it was designed that slight movements these small flashes move to combine into a medium and bolder flashes. It’s just a long misconception of virtual faceting was always based on a static face up. But a diamond is always moving. As for the rest it’s all proprietary angles they use on each facet.

Are three stone rings popular for the rings these days? My gf is obsessed with their oval trilogy but it’s taking awhile to get matching pairs. I actually feel like their petite series is nicer, I already have an 0.8+ oval hearts and arrows booked. I actually have my proposal plan booked and abit delayed. Any idea if getting a simple design first then ask JP to reset a new setting when the side pieces come in is a good idea? Also has anyone asked for settings discount before?

Luxiee is a place that they do drop shipments and there is a reason why those diamonds ends up on those online sites that jewellers dont stock. I suggest watching those Diamond online tutorial videos or articles first to see what to look out for.

Anyway, for that diamond, it’s a classic example of what you run away from.
- 1.00 flat carat weight
- bad inclusions on girdle that can chip
- proportions are bad (very steep deep cut)

You'd be better off waiting for a design that your girlfriend loves, instead of wasting money on a simpler setting and getting them to recast.
