Oops. I saw the actual ASET. It's a dugged girdle.. not painted. There are 3 types of girdles that are applicable to the 57 facets rounds.
Classic, painted and dugged.

Classic girdle is is when the girdle's halves and mains height are the same (left pic). Dugged girdles happens when the girdle's main height is cut longer than the halves, which makes the girdles an uneven height. Painted is the opposite of dugged when Main < Halves.

So on the Actual ASET scope, you can see the Main's (yellow circle) are much longer than the halves (blue circle) which makes it imbalanced. Sometimes, dugged/painted occurs when the diamond have inclusion problems on the girdle, so the cutter tries to cut it away. Also, Main's should usually be like a ''triangle'' shape, whereas this is very jagged and uneven. Not sure why this is the case. And the rest of the girdles are quite uneven too.

By right, the girdles should have all equal heights like this, so that it is balanced and evenly distributed.

Hello! I think your 0.395ct, colour E, clarity IF diamond at $2,500 is definitely a good buy! I’m not a professional but actually I got 2 round 10 white series from Jannpaul too. Mine is 0.397ct, colour F, clarity VVS1 at $2,750 each. So if you are wondering whether yours is worth it, I definitely feel so!!

I not sure whats a custom cut. Its just a 10H&A Round modified brillant. Its kinda wierd since you got there earlier than me, but u did not get to choose the diamond i have now. Maybe its a rejection piece from another customer?

Ah I see. Mine was a custom cut. Meaning there was no ready stock for me in the store. I placed a deposit to order the 2 diamonds somewhere in Feb’21 and only managed to get them in Jun’21. For custom cut diamond, it’s like they will confirm with you a range of ct size, colour, clarity acceptable to you and a price range, then, depending on how it turns out, they will charge you accordingly.

Anyone has a recommendation for sapphire ring? My gf mentioned hundred-ish will do. So I want to do it below 1k. I saw james allen online but had to be shipped from US. Anyone has advices pls?

We are not particular about the technicality of the stone/design etc etc. Just want something simple/pleasing to the eye.

Wow! 1.288 F VVS1. That’s huge! Iirc, a SIC 1.0xct F VVS2 is about 15k. So yours sounds about right since it’s bigger and a VVS1. And it’s their White Series Round 10 hearts and arrows which is a better cut. Your diamond’s gonna be damn bling man. Got photo?

Decagon 0.6ct is abt 4-5kish range depending on specs. Then you need to just add the ring casing cost. All in shld be under 6k. The last time I was there, all their 0.6cts were sold out. So you might have to pre-order yours.

Jannpaul has an emerald white series, just went down last weekend. I've been looking all over for a nice emerald online and in stores, is crazy bright. I think I've looked at 40-50 different emeralds from different vendors since early 2020 and theres nothing like this at all. I'm custom cutting one, letting you bros know they carry one if your SO likes emeralds since it's not on their instagram or facebook.
