Okay i uploaded the video (minus sound)

https:// streamable.com/ d2dgkq

shows the diamond under white light and led light

Diamond looks great! Esp under the led light.. the whole diamond lights up. No wonder their white series are so popular.

Dear all,

I'm looking for a proposal ring, ~1.0 - 1.2 carat Diamond.

I've been looking online as well as this forum for information. However, there are too many posts and I can't read them all. I have a few questions here and I hope some veteran experts could share some light on a noob like me. Thank you in advance!

1) It seems most people go to JP or HOH. Are these 2 the best places in terms of value to get the diamonds from?

2) Also, I really like the JP Cushion Brellia cut style, does anyone know if other shops have that cutting? or is this cutting unique, like their super ideal round diamond cut?

3) Anyone know what is the price range I'm looking at, for 1.0 - 1.2c JP Cushion Brellia? (I'm assuming G, VVS2 as it seems to be the most value-for-money segment)

Thank you!

Uped your scopes. Cut and symmetry is perfect. Very nice diamond you got there (y)

I won't call myself an expert here but can try to help. If you're looking for the best diamonds in terms of brightness and fire, you can trust JP on it. They have very strict cut standards and don't cost an arm or leg. They are very reasonably priced for the quality they offer. HOH is related to them. I think it's their parent company. HOH sells diamonds too but the quality is not as great as JP. I think JP's rejected diamonds goes to HOH (don't quote me on this).

JP's Cushion Brellia is a patented cut. So only they will have it. They have another Cushion hearts and arrows in their White Series collection (not the Brellia). I think that's the newer version of the Cushion Brellia?
Pricing I'm not sure in the 1ct range. You can try asking them.

Thank you! Any other gem houses I should look at for the best value for money diamonds? So at least even if JP charges a premium for their premium cuts, it would be good to know what's the additional premium I'm looking at.

It depends on the Cut that you are going for. Like the White Series will cost 5-10% more than than their SIC. It's quite worth it as you drop 1 color or clarity grade, it makes up the price difference for a better cut already. I think that's why alot of ppl are going for their White Series instead. Then if you're comparing normal Cushions, just like princess square cuts, they are typically much cheaper than the rounds and performs much worse. If comparing the cost, it'll probably be more accurate to compare HOH and other gem houses. Or a better comparison will be online. And there are other aspects that can affect the diamond cost besides the cut, like its inclusion type/location, off hue color, proportions, optic symmetry, etc. etc.

Nice diamond. Girdle variance is quite large from Thin to Slightly Thick. Usually it should be T-M, or M-ST for good round diamond. Other than that, superb images

Scientists from AGS found out that when the pavilion angle is above 40.768°, it will receive the red light from above 45°. When the pavilion angle is below 40.768°, it will receive the green light from the below 45° spectrum.

There’s also a twilight zone in which the center can be somewhere in between red and green. As a perfect pavilion angle can range anywhere between 40.6° and 41.0°, the center of a super ideal cut diamond in an ASET image can be either green or red. So the middle dot color doesn't matter.

Finally collected my decagon ring!! Preordered my decagon diamond from Jannpaul afew months back. It took almost 2 months for them to custom cut it out and another month to craft the ring. Diamond is a 0.52 G VVS2 (originally meant to be F-G, VS1-VS2 range). I benefitted for the higher clarity as they capped the cost to a VS1 clarity. So I kinda got a free clarity upgrade :D

Thank you all for the recommendations, the wait was worthwhile, their service has been excellent but I think everyone knows that already from the past threads. At least my proposal plan now will work with phase 3 opening up so decided to finally collect my ring; heres my review thus far:

Their white series collection are all significantly brighter and firey than even their SIC. Price wise IMO is extremely worth the trade-off. It's damn sparkly at all angles man. I brought the ring to different places with different types of lights. The decagon lives up to its name and sparkles away. Whenever I move the diamond ring abit or my head angle, it will have alot of those on/off bling effect. I don't have a creative mind and chose one of JP's ring design I found on their instagram in their petite series. The small diamonds on the bands are decagon cuts too and they're all cut like wins as well (I have an ASET without the backing if anyone wishes to borrow). You need to face up towards the light or use your handphone as the backlight.

I've brought my ring around to various jewelry shops, mostly all around in Ion and in each shop it really just outshines everything I walked past. The decagon small diamonds were a big surpriser compared to what shops have as small diamonds. They sparkle as much as my main piece and completes the ring well

Another thing I noticed is the workmanship as my eyes can tell is extremely symmetrical vs even big brands. Big thumbs up to JP! Was serviced by 3 people from JP; Chloe, Eugene and Avery.Anyway, here's a video of my ring under sunlight taken from a camera phone. Good luck to everyone else there and my findings to help you out.

P.S. My decagon is a G color and like the rest of the other bros said, their white series G Color still looks very white. For those who are thinking of the G color too, you can see my video for ref.
Hi Ling Huang,

Can check with you on the price for your diamond ring?

Interested to know the setting cost and diamond cost.

Thank you in advance!

Wow okay that is quite interesting the links.. looks like no issue for the middle to be either red or green

Was quoted similar for 0.97 carat yesterday, solitaire petite simple ring. I'd assume carat doesn't affect ring setting cost.

Can anyone help me assess this diamond? AGS 104111157029.

Will send scope imaging when I receive them.
