Thanks all.

Yes, this is not from JP.

I have managed to obtain the ASET scope pic of the diamond from the dealer (they said they have already sent it to the factory after I had confirmed the order and hence didnt have the physical diamond to show me) and here it is:

My question is - does the above ASET match the specs of the diamond in your view? It looks rather symmetrical to me but I don't recall it was that "good" when I viewed it, although I can't exactly recall now.

Hmm.. the ASET is abit strange. Usually the arrows would be blue but this is almost black. Like everything was darkened. I do see some light leakages starting to appear on the table but I’m not sure if the image is darkened until the light leakages is “masked”. The girdles aren’t symmetrical though. These spikes are meant to be even and the same size. Also, this is a painted girdle.

Thanks! Interesting.... so you’re saying this ASET image could possibly be doctored ? I don’t doubt that possibility......

I’m not too sure about that. A safe bet would be to see the actual diamond under the ASET. Then check it’s inscription number to match its original GIA cert.

Got it, thanks!

curious to also hear from others on their opinion of the ASET scope I posted. Seems fishy.

Hi Homies,

Can help me beo whether this is a good deal?

I think Decagon should be highest quality already? I don't know how to see, so can't help you. Haha but I placed order for Decagon lab grown last week. Just wondering when will they send you this? They will send you this before you confirm the diamond or after confirm?

like 1000smiles said, the girdle looks weird. It is likely they use a dark background, hence almost black hearts and arrows. By right, the scope u should see is very light blue. Might be hiding the light leakages at the table as u can already see some white spots on the table.

Would like to slightly correct that Decagon is just the fancy cut type. But this Decagon is white series, which is of the highest quality already. I did some research on ideal depth/ table etc on diamonds but found that it's not suitable to compare with JP's white series as the dimensions will be different due to the diamond having double the facets.

Some people do not like girdles that have too big of a variation, i.e prefer thin to thick vs thin to very thick. But my opinion is that it's really not much different as long as it doesn't compromise the integrity.

JP quality is there and they are transparent, hence the premium we pay. I think we only need to really look deeply if we're buying from online vendors etc.

The ASET scope look unusual especially on the overall contrast and girdles compared to those loose diamonds found on retailers i.e. whiteflash, briangavin or even JP. There are also light leakages in terms of white area which could cause the diamond to look dull. You can refer to the video post by nitron to assess the diamond light performance. i think with 11k+ you could also get a 0.9 carat at JP.

went to JP last week so I can share some numbers since I asked for a few.
honestly speaking I went to SK, Love & co, chou tai fook etc, JP prices don't seem that high to me especially when they are being so transparent plus I can choose diamond + setting that I like separately.

natural round 10 or decagon will be
$7K-$7.4K for 0.71-0.74 carat (F-G, VVS1-VS2)
$6.3K-$6.8K for 0.67-0.69 carat (F-G, VVS1-VS2)

lab grown round10 or decagon was $2.5K-$2.8K for 0.71-0.79 carat (D-F, VVS)

For the specs and cut you're getting from JP, I actually find them to be cheaper and better value. Plus theirs is a white series range that's a better cut that the standard 57 facets the rest are selling. When I was in SK, they quoted me over 1k+ just to customize a plain setting. In JP, its only $550. lol

any bro knows how to film a diamond ring? just like JP or like video in the link. what lens should I use? macro lens?

It's likely they use a DSLR cam with macro lens to film. Here's a thread on taking diamond photos. It should apply to videos too.

I see JP's unboxing videos, they got mention each light set up they film under. Like white light, LED, sunlight, etc.

fully agree! the 111 facets for 10H10A at JP already beats the rest. So glad I went to JP in the end. thanks to everyone in this thread.

Hi Seniors, I am wondering if there is a thread for proposal rings that are not for diamonds?? My gf's birthday is in June so I am exploring the idea of proposing with her birthstones such as pearl, moonstone or Alexandrite.
Gamxia in advance 😃

Just wondering, how many times did all of you change your engagement and wedding band design before deciding that is the one? 😆
