Been comparing a couple of shops for rings, and after comparison, JP seems the best by far in terms of cut. Prices are bit steep, the sales person kept telling me to "lock-in" my purchase as diamond prices are going to increase 5-10% in the next month or so. Abit annoyed by the hard sell.

Anyone have experience in getting direct from resellers or jewelers directly to cut costs? Don't think I can find JP standard, unless anyone feels otherwise?

Prices quoted - is this normal? I feel that I'm over quoted when I compare it on the website.

Instock: Round (10 Hearts & Arrows)

0.958 D VVS1
$15,800 (Inclusive of GST)

1.126 G VS1
$19,500 (Inclusive of GST)

Decagon (10 Hearts & Arrows)
0.918 F VVS2
$14,800 (Inclusive of GST)

Super Ideal Cut Round (8 Hearts & Arrows)
0.94 F VS1
$12,900 (Inclusive of GST)

jp prices are steep and it's true.

Maybe invest in your own aset scope to check diamonds in other shops? Im sure there are better priced diamonds out there.

Debeers increased diamond prices again last month by 8-20%. That’s on top of a 23% increase since last year. Its a matter of time when this increase will hit the retail.

Closest whiteflash ACA are,
0.93 D VVS1
USD 12,742 = SGD 18,542 with 7% gst

0.92 E VVS1
USD 9,750 = SGD 14,188 with 7% gst

and don’t forget, your comparing it with a white series

Hi! I'm very new in my diamond hunt just went several chain stores to have a look and JP just recently to compare.
I believe you gotten quite a good deal for your whiteseries Lab grown diamond, may i ask how much and how long was the actual wait? I was quoted about 3k+ for a 0.8ct but got to wait 4 months for them to custom cut for me. When I went to those chain stores last month, it was like close to 4k for their 0.7ct+ lab grown, and if I'm not wrong theirs was IGI cert while JP is AGS and also whiteseries somemore.

If you compare against ACA WF or any other super ideal vendors jp is considered cheap. Their white series is about the same price as online vendor’s super ideals and their cut quality is way superior. @illusioned you’re right and I agree there isn’t any vendor Singapore or international that can match jp in cut standards. - They absorb the cost of the weight loss for superior cutting of the white series so if you compare jp white series to super ideals of other vendors it’s very worth it.

Then the next determining factor is what color clarity as that affects the price. As @1000smiles said diamond prices has gone up a ton so has other commodities. The win factor for me is that their white series can hold up in brightness even in their rotational aset videos. No other vendor does that. If you use the aset it’s only at face up 90 degrees value. I’d consider either the 0.918 f vvs2 or pay 1k more for the d color if she wants a round and the highest color possible. But d vvs1 is pretty overkill but that’s just me. And the 1 carat + only if the size really fits her and you’re looking for 1ct and up.

Diamond prices has been getting quite crazy. Just like all the other items like chips, watches and COE prices. I wonder how long this upwards trend is gonna continue for. I think those that managed to get their diamonds earlier got lucky. I bought a 1.5ct from JP in 2017 and when I compare to current prices on BN and WF, it's selling for 5-6k more now for the same specs . And yeah, JP still has the better cut.

The biggest qn is whether diamond prices will continue to go up (and you should buy now before it gets worse) or will it go back down (wait it out until price gets better). No one will know.

I think that's why more people are considering lab grown diamonds now too. The prices for them are still ok. I don't think lab grown diamonds will retain the value as good as naturals, but I can understand why more people are opting for it.

wao then if want propose must wait till ring here? lol.

What is the difference between 3-6 months between when you order and when you propose compared to the 50-60 years you will live with her?

There is no stopping one from buying off Tiffany or other shops.

end of the day is what u like and what she like. some like simple one. dont care diamond grades. some just think big stone can liao.

shops out there are competitive i feel. I looked around jp and other shops and i did find out other shops in the malls have the same price and don't need to wait. are the scopes good? dont know i never ask. Is jp scope good? probably.

Is it important? up to the buyer yourself liao

Thanks! Just unsure if that is around the market price now as it's our first time getting a diamond. Seems like the price of diamonds are going up at a fast rate now.

0.78 F IF for $8k is a good price. High 0.7ct+, top clarity and white series cut. I know when it hits 0.8ct size, the pricing is around $10k+ liao.

Thanks for contributing your view! Yeah, was told by them that the 0.8 carat ones are in the 10k+ range already. I guess this 8.8k is worth it?
