please get one of this. I want to tell you the PSU is not dead because u r doing stuffs like the paperclip test...

Hey guys, I just got reply from TD and if really got issues they offer me a new to SF ledex gold same watts with top-up of 100 bucks or a refurbished set.

And may I know what's the current price for the PSU and also does refurbished means they fix it and sell as new?

i see so refurbished set is a no go. but den again im not going to overhaul my pc yet atm...so not sure if getting a new psu would be better way?

If u forsee yourself with more power hungry components in your future overhaul that requires more than 550 w, etc.add another gpu, then i wont invest in a gold new 550 w now. You do the maths

if i am u, i will choose the refurbished set.

i will use refurbished set as spare (troubleshooting) or temporary set (tahan till year end sales) or scrape it (maybe $50?). i rem my sf psu 650watts rgb is $115++..... so brand new 550 watts gold for $100 doesn't add up the value worth.


But of coz, if u find it troublesome....u can follow their proposal.

Sometimes it could be the power on button issue. This method needs you to open the casing. Open the case and unplug the power sw connector and use a flat head screwdriver to start the PC. If the problem goes away, then it's POWER SW problem.

He already verified his psu on a second pc. That is why he eliminate the power sw.

forget to update here, that its really die. cos when i bring down for them to test, they also use the psu tester and the result turns out that it didnt light up so its really dead.

and im currently using it till the warranty ends which is next month last week. hopefully using this refubished set can last till i get my next build up.

i have help to compose the sql scripts for psu tester in the past, there can be several conditions for the light up, just like if voltage not enough to meet the condition, fan does not spin up
