I have to pursude a good honour for psychology, as in Bachelor of Psychology, and not Bachelor of Science (Psychology) or Bachelor of Arts (Psychology).
Also, i read that econs grads command a higher starting pay than psy and socio grads. Anyone know why?
because many of them go into banks and MTI stat boards which can afford a higher starting pay ($3k and above in past years). research/NGO/Think tanks aren't usually able to get such generous funding.
Won't psy grads get into banks or stat boards? Cause psy looking at the study of human behaviour which is important in the financial sector as well.
Do you by any chance know how much does a position in research/NGO/Think tanks can get?
there are psych grads in banks and MTI stat boards just fewer, there are positions which specifically require econs/finance/math background which a psych grad won't be able to fill. there are other positions like banking ops which do not require prior knowledge but isn't everyone's cup of tea.
i have separated MTI stat boards from the rest of the civil service because some of them do pay significantly better than the rest of the civil service.
research= academia?
approx 2.5k. possibly less for NGOs, more for civil service esp if you are male.
if you have very good stats (eg, undergrad research experience, conference papers, excellent grades), the pay might be higher too.

I don't think its a problem, so long U not not seeking any form of aid.
Postgrad Dip entry requirements are generally lower and they do welcome students with open arm, U can use that as a stepping stone to better OZ Uni like UofMelb.
not in the case of psychology. imranali84 might want to have a look at the APS website for more info. usually for postgrad psych (research) courses in Aus, the unis will only accept those accredited psych undergrad degrees. imranali84 might have to take a graduate dip in psych (which follows the sequence of an undergrad psych major) in Aus. Won't be able to enter the Master courses by using the UniSIM degree which isn't accredited.
thanks for the comprehensive answers guys, really appreciate it! So based on the quote above, can i then say that upon completion of UNISIM degree, i will have to take additional graduate diploma IN AUSTRALIA in order to gain admission to furthering my studies there?

if you have to make a decision for yourself or loved ones, which of these above would you go for? How would you rank them?
And what about Murdoch's Psy programs?

And would you know which programs allow the students to do, for eg, 2 years here and the final year in Australia? To experience a sem or two there and actually graduate there would be great, I think.
