Hi all,

I understand there are a few tiers for krisflyer, like gold, silver etc and also the PPS.

I tend to spend alot on the credit cards, approximately 150-200k a month (for company) and if i transfer the points (convert to miles) over to KF, are there any way for me to accorded to those status?

Or those gold, silver and PPS is only reserved for those who buy their tickets directly instead of people like me who redeem points?

Thanks in advance!

Those status are for people who fly BIS (butt in seat) miles. You don't have to be the pax to buy the tix, just have to be the person who sit in the plane. No way to get those status without BIS miles unless your spouse is a Solitaire PPS.

Unless you travel for business (company pays for airfare) frequently, it's almost impossible to acquire status unless you're already rich in the first place and flies frequently.

I wouldn't worry about all these FFP status since it's difficult to maintain for leisure travelers like us.

Just earn your miles via CC and redeem them for Biz/First class tickets when you have the desire to.

Not necessary if you know what to do and not picky about airlines. One trip to US and back will almost get you a very useful *A gold for a few years. Even various small trips can get you there.

Its impossible to acquire KF Status via any other method than BIS or spouse referral.

For Star Alliance Gold quite easy via Aegean A3. Best is to look for Biz class promo fare on TG or CA and credit to A3.

Yeah thats the sucky part.

I still have too many miles to utilize that i don't see a need to purchase a ticket just to be accorded that status.
