Is it easy to get a grab from Casa de Rio? My friend told me she couldn't find any grab for 1.5 hours at jonker coz so many people there would also be trying to book a grab back to their own hotel.
Avoid trying to Grab from Jonker because most cars/cabs will avoid that place due to the crowd/jam. That's why that time when I was staying at DT and visiting the pasar malam, I walked over to outside Casa del Rio to Grab. Took the car about 10 to 15 mins to arrive.

Even from Casa del Rio when I was staying there preC19, didn't have to wait more than 10 mins. Fastest was the car turned into the driveway before I could look up from my phone. :s13:

I always walked away from pasar malam to Grab. Once it's earlier about 8pm, I walked over to Dataran Pahlawan Mall to shop, then Grab (that main road across from Mahkota Parade Mall), but ended up hopping into the shuttle when it came along.

Many thanks for the quick reply. Hatten already fully booked so I am now looking for hotels near to jonker. You have any recommendations?
Unfortunately, I don't have much experiences with most of the hotels in Melaka.

I've only stayed in 4, and 2 are already closed. :ROFLMAO:

I am actually thinking of either staying 2 days in Holiday Inn, or first day in Timez Hotel (they only have 1 night available during my 2 days stay) and last day in Casa de Rio for the convenience as I will be boarding the coach back to S'pore from Casa de Rio. Coz it's quite costly to stay 2 days in Casa if I am mostly out exploring Malacca.
I never heard of time hotel, holiday inn is 4 star, sea view but no beach for you to play.

Casa eat the breakfast there, it's worth it. If it's fri or sat evening plan your jonker to coincide with casa.

Casa is a resort, which is much higher class from a hotel, so make sure you enjoy your money's worth.

Time to go back to reminisce!

I'm contemplating whether to go in December. But my wife stumped me with the question, what do you want to do there? :frown:
"I enjoyed and miss our time there together, and would like to go with you again." :s13:

If one of them is Equatorial, I understand that it's closed for renovation. Not a short but one that takes a few years. Not sure if it's open already...

Got to check the latest status... PreC19, the Hatten group had a shuttle bus service that we took from ElementX Mall that's next to DT. It went to Hatten Hotel before going through places like (IIRC) Kampung Hulu, passed the Indian temple at the end of Jonker Street, then return to DT via the Red Square, the main road of Dataran Pahlawan Mall. They'd a few pick-up points.

I think it's to bring more traffic to ElementX back then, and/or the apartment/hotel crowd to Hatten and beyond.

Jonker, from San Shu Gong you across the bridge and somewhere across the street from the Portuguese Wall on the right side you'll see Jalan Kota. Just walk along that you'll see Dataran Pahlawan Mall. Towards the other end of this mall is where it leads to the bridge to Hatten.
