lok lok is not big deal. the capitol lok lok is only so-so. do not be bluffed by the locals. long queue and nothing fantastic.

for the seafood in portugese settlement, it is quite reasonably priced. try stall 1 which has many customers. follow the majority cannot be wrong.

courtyard is definitely not bad. see my posts earlier. the problem is parking in the single lane street.

Nice or not nice is quite subjective based on personal preference. Otherwise, the shops selling lok lok already uplorry liao.

I find lok lok is not bad since I am not eating it daily and just once in a year maybe. I hate the queue, normally go for supper around 11pm to avoid the crowd. My favourite shop is Ban Lee Siang at Jalan Ong Kim Wee.

Avoid Portugese seafood stall 1 on Saturday evening during popular dinner time (6-9pm), the waiting period can be easily 1 hour. The price is a little bit on high side but the crab is nice.

single lane street meaning does not have any basement carpark or a carpark space that is owned by the courtyard hotel?

will take note of the seafood stall. so for lok lok just go to any stall? i try before 1 stall not near to the malacca city central area but can't remember the name and lok lok not cheap too. 1 stick around 50-60cent RM

courtyard uses a demolished vacant land near the area to park. anyway, within walking distance, there is a big carpark near Donald and Lily's.

hote equitorial is located at one of the best location in malacca, with 2 shopping center like mahkota parade shopping center and pahlawan shopping center..

however, to walk to jonker street, probably it will take at least 20 to 30min walk..

Hi guys will be malacca this weekend, 1st time driving up relying on GPS guidance, will it be confusing ?

Staying at hotel equatorial , hence would it be better for me to park car at hotel and take taxi or walk for jalan jalan ?

especially, the hotel u stay, downstair 2 big shopping centre, walking distance to the red fort and malacca museums. jonker street night market 20 to 30 min walk. then from jonker street if tired take cab back to hotel like 8 to 10 ringgit. But u know the car is park outside the hotel, from what i recall, no carpark at the basement. Enjoy your trip, just need to walk walk look see look see. If possible get the map at the hotel reception.

For me I lazy walk so drive around to explore except for the shopping centre next door. EH car park is unlimited entry for guest.

Go explore and try the chendol, satay celup, chicken rice ball and their bau...

Carrefour in the mall next to EH has closed down but the signage is still all over the mall...so don't be misled =:p

Movie is also cheaper in Melaka...or should I say in whole Malaysia...

Cheers
