I dont think Johara express operate from Larkin to Malacca anymore. In fact, now the ticket price from Larkin to Melaka is RM19.

I'm looking at Aldy Studhuys or Aldy Chinatown hotel for the year-end trip to Malacca. Anyone stay in either of these hotels before? They should be walking distance (5-10 mins) to Jonker walk right? Any comment on the hotels?

Thanks

Previously, I did enquired about one of these hotel but it seems quite a basic hotel. If you just need a basic hotel, just go for it. for me, I prefer somewhat more than basic so I usually stay in Equatorial or Holiday Inn.

I've booked the Aldy Studhuys and then realise that their parking lots are limited and on a first come first serve basis. They advised me to park at the public car park nearby. Do you know how much will it cost to park the car there for a full day? Also, do you know if any guard is stationed there to jaga?

Thanks

Public car park no jaga. You may want to source some other carpark or just don't drive there. Coach is convenient.

diagonally opposite lily and donald is a manned car park. think is RM5/entry.

not sure of night parking. some aim for Singapore cars so be warned.

Hari Raya is a Malay festivall and you are heading to Malaysia so you may see some places may be closed. If you are there for eating and shopping, it's still okay. But do bare in mind the human jam in customs.

not only custom, you can expect massive jam in malacca town and maybe NSHW as well.

good idea. leave at 5am and you avoid all jams and stupid queue. you will reach Melaka at 8am if you skip breakfast at R&R. Beware of R&R as the food is dirty. Some of my friends reported to toilet without fail after 2-3 hours.

R&R? You mean Yong Peng? For me, I have no problem with food in Yong Peng. There is a pushcart that sells chestnut, very nice.

Instead of exit at the Ayer Keroh toll, why don't you guys consider to exit 1 toll before Ayer Keroh? It has sign board to lead you to Malacca Town through AMJ (Alor Gajah-Muar expressway). From AMJ turn out from Semabok and within 5 mins can reach Banda Hilir, Mahkota Parade area. No jam and save your time & toll.

But if you take coach, Ayer Keroh exit is the standard.

I meant for those who drive to Malacca, especially during public holidays. We Malaccan would rather stay at home during PH as the road would be flooded with outstation cars & tourists :D
