Anyone here with a reliable (tried and tested) metered taxi booking number to share here.

No car rental service, please, just need an ad-hoc transport alternative.

Thanks! :)

I saw a Jonker Boutique Hotel... anyone got reviews? and what would you guys suggest if it's a sat/sun trip... or should I leave on Fri night 7pm and come back sun late afternoon?

Jonker Boutique Hotel. Right in the thick of the action. The stage in front of the hotel means that you probably won't be able to sleep before 11pm on weekends. The night market operates on the street every weekend evening.
Parking shall be difficult if you intend to drive.

Jonker Boutique Hotel is the one on the right of the stage? Thick of the action indeed! Passed there a few times, looked and thought of the possibility of staying there one day, but purely forgot about the stage noise! :s13:

Location-wise, I'd go for Equatoria too, coz Jonker can be very (too) quiet late nights.

I go to the pasar malam daily. Love the RM1/2pcs dal vadai, RM7 cut mangoes from the elderly lady, and the RM4 cut guavas from a "guava only" stall farther down the road. :D

Anyone stayed at The Explorer Hotel before? Any review?

I am thinking of going larkin to catch a coach to Malacca on a Saturday morning in second week of June. Any recommended coach company from larkin? Should be able to get 2 tickets without booking right?

I stayed there about 2 years ago. Great location. Mid-way between Mahkota Parade/Pahlawan Mall and Jonker Street. Also right where the historical sights are. There is a routine night market downstairs. The rooms are of fair size and service is acceptable. Try to reach Larkin early. School vacation month. Buy your return ticket as soon as you reach Malacca, especially for coaches that come into Singapore.

yes, for school holidays, tickets are selling fast even at larkin. please remember to buy tickets from the counter, do not buy from anyone who approach you.
there are plenty of reputable coach company that goes to Malacca, KKKL Express, Delima Express, 707 Express, Mayang Sari express

the earliest coach is 730am.

saturday morning and school holidays, it is hard to predict the crowd.

by the time you reach there at 830am probably you can only get the tickets dep at 930 or 1000 or 1030. Hard to say.
