Get used to the new normal. Singapore-Malacca can take over 5 hours with jams on both CIQ and also the journey to Malacca town or Sentral.

Super peak, 4pm has also happened. Coming back, a 4pm departure reached after midnight.

Moral of the story, avoid travelling there/back during such peak (long weekend, etc) periods, unless you can spare the extra time (stuck) along the way.

thats like 9 hours... :(

i think it would better to just go larkin and board a coach from there. should be faster i guess.

Not much difference, IMO, since the main jam is going into Melaka town and Sentral.

Just avoid long weekends. What I did, was to travel on Thursday latest, and return only on Tuesday or just don't return only on the day before you've to head back to work.

Will the new HSR goto/stop at Malacca?

The Malacca stop for the planned HSR is at Air Keroh, where you will likely encounter the same jammed roads going to town. Of course, MBMB has until 2026 to improve things. That is if the HSR is built at all.

yes, you may go to larkin and take the bus, but you also have to factor in the time you travel from Singapore to larkin, and from larkin you wait for the bus, and starting to board the bus to malacca.. so, you can save from the exchange rate, but the travelling time probably much longer..

Latest I reached at 5pm, super jam at woodlands. Coach moved off at 8am and still at SG side at 12 noon.

Not even that 5-min toilet stop on the way back?

4seater or 6seater? And any one knew which is better, rent pokect wifi or buy simcard in malaysia?
These days especially for Malaysia, majority just buy a SIM card.

I still remember that day when the coach (and I believe many others) reached in time for early dinner, 4pm-ish. It's one of those long weekends, though I can't recall if it's also a school holiday.

Such a situation is risky for those who plan for just a day trip, like some tourists from here. But I guess the coach companies will try to discourage them if they expect a jam like that.

5 ppl & more, take 6-seater - Peduro, Avanza are common. 6 seater takes a bit longer to grab. Buy sim card and use an extra phone to hotspot.

Hi, going to Malacca during cny, 1st time taking luxury, anything to take note. Thanks.

Take note of time to report to pick up point, time coach departs, coach number so you can return to the right one after immigration and customs, and also after the breakfast stop.

Return journey, take note of pick up point and place, be punctual, and that there will only be a short toilet stop along the way.
