What is undertaker unit? Coffin seller?
I only explore inside the Jonker not outside near to the river, didn't see it. CNY noon time, alot of people walking and shopping at Jonker, after lunch, I walk to the bridge and call Grab. Very sian.
Ya, aka coffin shop. Jonker one was I spotted the signboard from across the road, until one evening when I was walking along the road while there's a wake in the unit. Anyway, that's not there already, I think.

First time came across was in JB many years back, row of shophouses on the right of Plaza Pelangi facing the main road. Was walking with a group of friends between Sentosa and Pelangi when we passed the shop.

Jonker weekend cannot walk after the tour coaches arrive, can only walk in the morning then run off to the malls. I was staying at Casa del Rio during my first years there, thus visited Jonker quite a bit day and night. :s13:

Buy those sun screen or sun blocker net
I have the front windscreen one, but it's smaller than my screen. My wife bought it at Daiso for 2 dollars, I think. Can't complain as it's used only about 1% of the time.

Think I better invest in a bigger one now. :o

Been tempted to stay at Casa del Rio, but the price scares me off. :o

Now my kids are getting too big, really need a bigger hotel room which can accommodate 2 beds minimum. Getting 2 rooms is not good as both kids are not old enough to be left alone, and more expensive to get 2 rooms. Imagine 2 rooms at Casa del Rio. Can die, man! :ROFLMAO:

I'm hoping there is a back door/gate to cut through to Hotel Equitorial, but I'm too optimistic, I suppose.

The road back to Hotel Equitorial can be a bit dangerous as it is single lane, and I'll bringing 2 primary school girls as well. Probably only good thing will be that we will be there on Sunday, so maybe there will be slightly lesser cars than normal weekends.

But I think Christee has only open space car park. My car is 99% parked under shelter, so it's gonna be bad for the interior. :frown:
See their website (and I wonder if you'll notice a "funny/scary/weird" photo in there as well), they mentioned something about Dataran Pahlawan being nearby, so my guess is there's a way for you to cut across. Ask the staff when you get there.

I remember walking into the mall and exiting via one of the doors nearest to Hotel Equatorial. You need not walk along the road all the way, unless the mall has locked off that exit for some reason.

To me, Penang and JB are good. KL, many tell me not safe at night, don't dare to explore much.
I somehow don't feel at ease in KL. Cannot relax outside...

I see Double Tree is like to far off in the distance, and my wife's colleague recommended it, so we tried it. And the place still seems quite new. Google map still showed the place being boarded up. :ROFLMAO:
I like DoubleTree as well. Got to Grab almost everywhere I wanted to go, but it's a nice hotel IMO. Tried walking to Hatten Hotel once, it took about half an hour along the shophouses all the way.

By the way, where is the Dutch cemetery exactly? Might be educational for my girls. :o

I've only walked that part 1 time during my 2nd visit to Melaka. After that, never walked there. Driving always focused on the roads nia.

I went on Google Map and saw it when I traced along the recommended route that'd reach Jonker via the red buildings. The sign says The Dutch Graveyard. That route looks quite hot under the sun...

I'd want to try taking the Hotel Equatorial side to access the malls instead.

I rem I stayed near IOI city mall. Just hang around that place. Penang still 👌
I wish I have the stamina to drive all the way to Penang.

Melaka is the best comfortable distance without stopping, though now with kids must stop at least once if not twice.

KL or PD (not exactly sure which one is further) was the furthest I had gone to so far. Been interested to go Genting for the longest time, but I scared with my driving technique, I will come down without brake pads liao. :o

Finally saw it! Almost nearing the Red Building side like you mentioned.

Actually if driving, Double tree is not that far from Hatten. I didn't stay there before, saw their lobby very pretty and the staffs very helpful. Bro @Habrosus stay there before.

@Eviltrap I'd recommend DoubleTree and I know they've interconnecting rooms. In fact I've seen at certain corners they also have 2 rooms facing each other with an extra door closing that linked area from public access. IIRC there's even a row of 3 or 4 rooms with doors on both sides that looked like one could close off the whole corridor.

I've never asked them what rooms those were, as I've yet to need more than one room so far. Their twin beds are like 4ft rather than the norm super single size.

I love the buffet breakfast spread there, big space with a wide variety of food.

I like Doubletree Melaka too, stayed 3 times all satisfied and they deliver what one would expect of the DT brand. Easy to drive there and park, carpark is a bit dark but park near the lift lobby and the barriers with the security, and take grab everywhere.

may i ask, where do you all go massage when in malacca? how much was it?
I research but didn't go due to both of us are coughing badly.
Summer Thai Massage.
Pre covid tried Scents & Senses but that branch is closed. Reviews also turn bad. I will say skip this company.
