less than $10 SGD! very yummy too!

also bought many lollipops from the provision shop next to Ban Hong Xiang... Lol

from what I've heard, the queue is long because the seating capacity is low. and my family is from Melaka so they got ask the boss why he don't wan expand, he says he want to keep it this way, ensure queue is long, cos Singaporeans are suckers for anything with a queue.

I hate to queue, so I normally go to Ban Lee Siang at 45-E jalan Ong Kim wee.

Hatten hotel, any idea on the parking facilities there? website states got disabled parking only.

satay celup - i wanted to try. but read that the sauce is recycled. YUCKS!
even if you are the first guy there, the sauce might be from last night.

imagine the amount of other people's saliva contained in the sauce...

You may park at Hatten's itself where is a tall multi-story carpark.

Where Hatten is right smack on top of the shopping, there is also another nice hotel if you are more keen to be right next to Jonker.

satay celup is for stupid singaporeans who like to queue and youngsters who do not know what is good food.

Tks for the info.

Casa del Rio is not the only that "right smacked" at jonker. Its still quite a few steps to jonker. The really right smacked at jonker would be Hangout@Malacca. U can hear the honking of cars and bustling from your hotel room.

Decide to venture out of jonker for once, so likely to choose hatten if there are rooms. :)

also looking to see where the locals eat/go.

hi all just back from my trip to malacca.
thanks bros here for the recommendations.

stayed at Equatorial hotel. overall quite nice just need to pay for wifi only.
will consider staying nearer to jonker street cos of the shorter walking distance.

although only 2d/1n trip, I tried the chicken rice balls, durian chendol, portuguese seafood and dim sum for breakfast. will go again to try out other food in the near future. visited the shopping malls too and watch one movie for 7 ringgit...lol.

the portuguese seafood quite normal, nothing too fantastic.

what other food u guys suggest i should try too?

just notice that there isnt much nightlife at malacca? just saw afew ktv along the street.
