Thanks alot!

Read some mixed reviews for Equatorial and Hatten hotel.. Which is nearer to jonker street ?

Both are equidistant from Jonker Street, though the walk from the Equatorial is more interesting.

From equatorial u can pass thru the small road behind Dataran Palawan and see the heritage buildings. You will also go past the entrance to the fort and link directly to Dutch square.

From Hatten u walk along the main road past Mahkota mall and the martime museum. But u can also cut through Dataran Palawan to the back street to Jonkers from equatorial.

More interesting means more food? or more dangerous? :s13:

Equatorial is much much older and the rooms are aging... Hatten tho crowded, the rooms are still new, clean and spacious. Carpark is also sufficient an safe in Hatten Mall. Mahkota mall and Dataran Palawan is just beside each other no hassle shopping.

You mean Jonker Street?

If so, yes. The night market is still available. Just came back yesterday. :)

Planning to head. Over for a short weekend, I see the bus all stop at malacca central, but I'm planning to stay at hattan. How do I commute between the hotel to the bus location? Can walk? 1st timer here...

Walk not recommended
Take bus, no:17 to reach your hotel, 1.3 rm

One check on Google Maps will show you that the distance is too great for a leisurely walk. Take Malacca Town Bus No 17 or 50 from Sentral.

Nope, Hatten is too far from Melaka Sentral. Take town bus 17, or panaroma bus which goes to Mahkota.

Anyone can advise around what time will Jonker street night market close on Saturday? I will be heading down after a wedding dinner at Muar.

They close around 10pm. If you are heading up from Muar, I don't think you have much time.
