In MALACCA, 25 flood victims from five families in Kampung Parit Penghulu, Sungai Rambai, Jasin were evacuated to Sekolah Kebangsaan Parit Penghulu since yesterday evening after Sungai Kesang nearby overflowed and inundated their homes.

Malacca MKN assistant secretary Maj. Jafri Mohamed said although the rain had not been heavy and the weather was clear today, the river overflowed due to the effects of flooding in Johor which experienced heavy downpours.

He said the water level in Sungai Kesang was at 3.12 metres.

It isn't near the touristy area but I would like to know the situation if anyone is there? The journey from Singapore to Malacca shouldn't be affected by the flood right?

i dont think the night market will open for christmas eve. The night market will only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night

Just to say that I took Mayang Sari from Larkin on Friday. 3-seats a row type at 21RM, and non-stop to Sentral. On my return on Saturday, it was 707 from Sentral to Queen Street. 21RM as well, but an old bus with 4-seats a row and the air con did not work very well. Non-stop too.

Hotel Puri told me it won't open on christmas eve or christmas because this year it doesn't fall one weekends.

3D2N would be better, not so rush. Be prepared to walk alot, malacca is more on sightseeing and food. So walking around lets u see more things. Traffic jams, and not easy to get a cab on the streets too.

If you have not booked your hotel, dun ever stay in Hatten. Lousy service, check-in problems, lousy lifts, and even the simple access cards got problems.

I have a 3 bedroom condo in malacca close to the city, if anyone wants to go.

$90 per night, like Chalet Good for 6 people max, 5 mins can reach the town centre by car.
