Has anyone taken coach to/fro recently? :)

Going over next week - weekdays - and probably schedule is like going on 7pm Monday coach, and returning (hopefully) on 7pm Wednesday coach.

Spent a few hours last night going through this thread and understand that coach companies like 707, Delima, and Luxury are popular with members here.

Questions:

1) Do you think my Monday 7pm to and Wednesday 7pm fro makes sense? Hotel booking will be Monday and Tuesday nights, so at least I've the whole of Tuesday there.

2) Is it possible to get the return tickets here, together with the ongoing one? If so, any recommendation?

Thanks in advance for any tips! :)

Where you stay ? 1st bus from Larkin on weekend is 7.30am. Weekday maybe 8am. On a 7.30am coach from Larkin, earliest I reach Malacca Sentral is 9.30am. latest is 1030am. RM19 1 way

Yup, buy from Malacca Sentral is cheaper. No an issue even on weekends, eg, Sat 10am when I reach.

Will look into going to Larkin if we really can't go directly from here instead. And also if we can't leave on Monday evening/night. =:p

Slight difference in the cost is not so much an issue, as we're more concerned about being able to catch the later coach back. ;)

Back from 2 nights in Malacca, thanks to all the info in here, everything went pretty well. :)

Departed from SIN in Monday mid-afternoon 707 coach, caught a RM20 cab to Casa del Rio Hotel, had dinner at the foodcourt/kopitiam on the hotel's left. Only simple "food" left in Jonker Street by then was cut fruits. =:p

Last evening's 7.30pm return KKKL coach was more spacious and the journey much shorter - reached JB CIQ at 10.15pm. The ride was very pleasant. :)

Right, had a scan of the area and came to the conclusion that the hotels in the area around Christ Church, like Casa del Rio, Quayside, Aldy, are more convenient than the likes of Equatorial and Holiday Inn. Being in the middle somewhere, it's good to drop off our shopping before heading out another direction. :s13:

Next trip, to see if there's a comfy but more economical hotel than CdR. :D

Delima express will have stop at Yong peng as well, but is only applicable for trip after 1pm.

Did check with Delima over at Melaka Sentral, but they didn't have any 7ish pm coach that day.

Those are mostly found in Melaka Raya. There are a few establishments at Jonker Street, at the junction of the Geographer Cafe
