The location is good. It is a parallel street to Jonker Walk. 5 min' walk. Lots of Bnb options in the area.

Thanks! I managed to find the address and more or less know the location now. Frequented the area while strolling during my past trips and probably even pass by this unit. =:p

Will check it out on my next trip then sound out my group to see if they're still keen. :)

One thing. Bring mosquito coils just in case. The area is residential and low-lying.

Thanks for the reminder. :)

I always have my electric mosquito repellent, Watson's mosquito patch, and citronella candle whenever I head that direction. Essentials for those staying anywhere low-lying near the river.

Utopia in Jonker Street sells lemon grass incense sticks, and the minimart below 1511 Guest House sells mosquito coils, if required too. ;)

Hmm ... well, I doubt will have issue as I am not driving up. I am hiring a private vehicle with driver and I doubt he will stay in Hatten but still .... how the hell that happened! LOL.

Just got official updates

Hotel Hatten
(Via Email)
Junior Twin Suite - MYR 300 nett per room per night inclusive of 2 breakfast
Deluxe King Suite - MYR 350 nett per room per night inclusive of 2 breakfast

(Via Hotel Website)
Junior Twin Suite - ~ MYR 315 nett per room per night inclusive of 2 breakfast
Deluxe Twin Suite - ~MYR 323.50 nett per room per night inclusive of 2 breakfast

Hotel Equatorial
(Via email):
Deluxe Twin Suite - MYR 318 nett per room per night inclusive of 2 breakfast

(Via Hotel Website)
Deluxe Twin Suite - ~MYR 254.40 nett per room per night inclusive of 2 breakfast
Premier Twin Suite - ~MYR 322.24 nett per room per night inclusive of 2 breakfast

Should I take Hatten or Equatorial?

Hatten -- Room should be smaller and slightly more costly but newer hotel and with shopping malls connected

Equatorial -- Room should be bigger and cheaper but hotel is older and per brother said it's at the corner of a road and would be bumpy should I need to push my elderly dad on wheelchair across the road (though I will not need to)

Advise?

Equatorial. My go to 5 star hotel in malacca.

Don't bother with hatten, it's sh*t..

Any Bros recall the total tolls one way?

Also wonder any good durian along the way? Heeee

I remember is below RM80.

I usually ask the cashier at the Touch n Go counter how much I need to top up for to & fro to my destination. They are always very kind, advising me to top up the amount I need after my current balance in my card.

Enjoy your trip!

Your itinerary is on your own or there will be transport bringing you around?

For us, we usually hang around in Malacca town.

A Famosa, Taming Sari Tower, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Christ church malacca, Dutch Square and museums are all in Malacca town - all walking distance from your Hatten Hotel. Just prepare umbrella and raincoat in case it rains.

If your trip falls on weekend, you can take a walk at the nite market in Jonker street.

Jonker street shops also open daily in late morning till nite.

Makan: chendol, chicken rice, Lok Lok, nonya food.

Avoid famosa chicken rice, not nice, machine made.

Thanks for the blog links, good read since I'm never tired of Melaka no matter how often I visit that place. :D

cct75 has booked a car to be at their disposable all the way there, until they come back, visiting over a weekend but not during the school holidays. I'm thinking they can take advantage of it and go out further, though not on Saturday/Sunday coz of the heavier traffic. :)

I've so far not had a chance to really eat at a Peranakan restaurant - stomach always too full with the other foods. Which one is your personal favorite/recommendation? I'm thinking of getting into Nancy's Kitchen before they move away from the area. =:p

I stayed in a handicapped room in hatten before, the toilets hv no steps and doors are sliding, bigger to accommodate the WheelChair. it will be the same level as the pool & gym.

If you want to breakfast and evenning cocktail, where alcohol is served for evening cocktail, to be included, then go for Club room. If you plan to eat non-hotel food, then deluxe or premier room will do.

We just came back from there. Not really interesting. Disappointing food too. Jonker street is a joke. So much hype for nothing. Anyway just a city break so let it be.

Tolls one way: RM 24.30, 3.90, 7.50 and 1 (can't remember the order)

Same for return.
