Lost On The Highway​

Once I was going to an event in a caravan of cars. The one leading the caravan was very intense. He was a person easily distracted by side issues and doctrines. And now we were lost because he went onto a tangent. After getting lost, he opened the Bible. It opened to Jeremiah 31:21, "Set your heart to the highway." He lost sight of the highway because he was sidetracked. In the same way, on life's journey, there are a million ways to get sidetracked, but there's only one way to stay on track. Set your heart to the way in front of you and keep your eyes on the prize. Stay centered on Messiah, the cross, the resurrection, and your salvation. Keep Him at the center of your mind, your heart, and your life, the center of your thoughts, of your way, and everything you do. If you fix your eyes on Him, you'll stay on track. You'll win your race. Don't look to the right or the left but set your heart to the highway of your salvation.

Mark Chapter 14 Covenant Inauguration
22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”
23 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.
24 “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them


This is the literal Covenant Inauguration. Sitting at the Passover meal, Jesus acts out a stunning theological shift. He structurally takes the elements that remembered the blood of the Exodus lambs and reinterprets them around Himself. He reveals that He is the actual Passover Lamb, and His impending broken flesh and poured-out blood will establish the long-awaited New Covenant to rescue humanity from sin. When Jesus uses the exact phrase, “This is my blood of the covenant,” He is deliberately quoting Moses' words at Mount Sinai word-for-word. In ancient Hebrew culture, a covenant could never be ratified by a legal signature; it required the shedding of blood to show the absolute, life-and-death seriousness of the agreement. Moses sprinkled animal blood onto stone pillars and human skin to bind Israel to the Law. Jesus reveals that He will pour out His own divine blood to bind us to a new agreement of absolute grace.

The Guaranteed Good Ending​

The Sacred Hebrew Year ends with Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. God commands His people to joyfully celebrate this feast - as it's all about Heaven. Just as the Hebrew year concludes with the Feast of Tabernacles, so does the Book of Revelation conclude with the same celebration. You see, for God's people, the end is a celebration of joy. Tabernacles reveals that the way of righteousness always ends with real joy, full joy, a joy that grows, and lasts to the end, and beyond. Messiah's way, even when it seems hard, is really the way of joy in disguise. The way of love, sacrifice, purity, repentance, and forgiveness all contain the mystery of joy. It's a mystery because you don't see it at first, but it always comes if you hold on. Messiah did not come so that you'd be miserable - but so that you would have complete and lasting joy. God saves the best for last. He's got something wonderful prepared for you. For His last mystery is joy! Therefore, keep walking the good path, and I'll see you at the Feast of Tabernacles in the Kingdom of Heaven
