Lost On The Highway

Once I was going to an event in a caravan of cars. The one leading the caravan was very intense. He was a person easily distracted by side issues and doctrines. And now we were lost because he went onto a tangent. After getting lost, he opened the Bible. It opened to Jeremiah 31:21, "Set your heart to the highway." He lost sight of the highway because he was sidetracked. In the same way, on life's journey, there are a million ways to get sidetracked, but there's only one way to stay on track. Set your heart to the way in front of you and keep your eyes on the prize. Stay centered on Messiah, the cross, the resurrection, and your salvation. Keep Him at the center of your mind, your heart, and your life, the center of your thoughts, of your way, and everything you do. If you fix your eyes on Him, you'll stay on track. You'll win your race. Don't look to the right or the left but set your heart to the highway of your salvation.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Today, commit to staying focused on God. Let go of things that pull you away from your purpose

Mark Chapter 14 Covenant Inauguration
22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.”
23 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.
24 “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them

This is the literal Covenant Inauguration. Sitting at the Passover meal, Jesus acts out a stunning theological shift. He structurally takes the elements that remembered the blood of the Exodus lambs and reinterprets them around Himself. He reveals that He is the actual Passover Lamb, and His impending broken flesh and poured-out blood will establish the long-awaited New Covenant to rescue humanity from sin. When Jesus uses the exact phrase, “This is my blood of the covenant,” He is deliberately quoting Moses' words at Mount Sinai word-for-word. In ancient Hebrew culture, a covenant could never be ratified by a legal signature; it required the shedding of blood to show the absolute, life-and-death seriousness of the agreement. Moses sprinkled animal blood onto stone pillars and human skin to bind Israel to the Law. Jesus reveals that He will pour out His own divine blood to bind us to a new agreement of absolute grace.
A powerful devotional piece tracking the eternal covenant. It weaves the celebration of the unrisen bread with the blood that seals the promise, singing: “Covenant sealed by the Great I AM... Yeshua our Passover Lamb, forever we proclaim.”

The Guaranteed Good Ending

The Sacred Hebrew Year ends with Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. God commands His people to joyfully celebrate this feast - as it's all about Heaven. Just as the Hebrew year concludes with the Feast of Tabernacles, so does the Book of Revelation conclude with the same celebration. You see, for God's people, the end is a celebration of joy. Tabernacles reveals that the way of righteousness always ends with real joy, full joy, a joy that grows, and lasts to the end, and beyond. Messiah's way, even when it seems hard, is really the way of joy in disguise. The way of love, sacrifice, purity, repentance, and forgiveness all contain the mystery of joy. It's a mystery because you don't see it at first, but it always comes if you hold on. Messiah did not come so that you'd be miserable - but so that you would have complete and lasting joy. God saves the best for last. He's got something wonderful prepared for you. For His last mystery is joy! Therefore, keep walking the good path, and I'll see you at the Feast of Tabernacles in the Kingdom of Heaven

Leviticus 23:36
Today, celebrate, give thanks, praise, rejoice for all God has done and will do

The Karav

The priests of Israel were in charge of ministering to and from the Lord. For these to enter their ministry, they had to go through a process of ordination. Exodus 29:8 says, "And you shall bring his sons and put garments on them." The Hebrew word used for bring is karav. Karav means: bring them near. It also means to approach God, to join, to offer, or to make ready. They only received their priestly garments, their mantle, and their anointing, if they first came near to God. That's the secret of all ministry. If you want to do great things for God, you have to karav - draw near to God. The nearer you are to God, the greater the anointing. That's why the priests who ministered for God were the ones who had access to draw near to His presence: it goes together. If you want to fulfill your ministry, put on your mantle, and be anointed, then learn the meaning of karav. The key to all you do for the Lord is how close you come to dwell in His courts and to worship in His holy presence.

Psalm 84:10
Today, aim to raise the level in your ministry. Draw near to God in His innermost sanctums and let Him bring you higher

The Firing Squad Joke

A man about to be executed by a firing squad is offered a last cigarette by his executioners. He answers, "No thanks, I appreciate it, but I'm trying to cut down." It's a joke about not understanding the gravity of one's situation - or its finite and immediate nature. Believers often do the same. If you're in Messiah, then your old life is over, convicted, sentenced, crucified, dead, and buried. But are you taking it seriously, or are you still living as if you really didn't die? According to Romans 6, if you're still living your old life, you're still living in sin, and you're no less ridiculous than the man who's trying to cut down on cigarettes at his execution. Your old life is dead and buried. If you're not seeing all the blessings of salvation in your life, it's because you're not taking that fact seriously. You can't live in the blessings of the resurrected life if you don't take the crucifixion seriously. Your life is buried in the tomb with Messiah. The sooner you accept that fact, the sooner you can start getting on with the resurrection.

Galatians 2:20
Today, ask the Lord to show you anything from your old life that needs to be buried and give it to Him.

Mark Chapter 11 Sovereign Inspection verse11 Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve This is one of the most chilling, quiet verses in the Gospel, representing a Sovereign Inspection. Jesus enters the temple not as a regular tourist or pilgrim, but as the cosmic Owner inspecting His property. He stays completely silent, scanning the spiritual decay, the greed, and the systemic corruption of the high priests, before walking away to return the next morning to execute judgment. In this famous Old Testament vision, God takes the prophet Ezekiel on a secret, detailed walking tour of the Jerusalem temple to inspect its hidden corruption. Ezekiel breaks through a wall and silently observes the high-ranking elders committing idolatry in dark, hidden rooms, arrogantly whispering, "The Lord does not see us". Jesus replicates Ezekiel's inspection in Mark 11:11. He stands in the dark temple courts, scanning the greed of the money changers and the high priests, proving that the eyes of God see exactly what is happening behind closed religious doors. A raw, live performance recorded by local believers in Israel. It sets the literal text of Psalm 51 to music, begging the inspecting Lord to blot out transgressions and create an authentic, weed-free Lev Tahor (Clean Heart) within us

The Mystery Hidden In Isaiah 53:1

Isaiah 53:1 says, "To whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed." The arm of the LORD is Messiah. The word "revealed," in Hebrew, is "galah" which also means to strip, make naked, to denigrate, to humiliate, take captive, sent into exile, and sent away. So it could be read: To whom has the arm of the LORD been made naked, stripped, denigrated, taken captive. It's amazing what's in the original Hebrew word because this is exactly what happened to Messiah. He was taken captive, stripped naked, humiliated, denigrated, and sent away. And from that same word galah comes the word galut: which is used for the Jewish exiles wandering the earth for the last 2000 years. And thus it links the Jewish people and their sufferings for 2000 years with the sufferings of Messiah. Thus, even when separated from Him, they're still joined to Him in their exile and suffering. Therefore when they return to Messiah, their sufferings will end. Because Messiah really did take our punishment, we'll never be judged. Messiah died for your sins; because of that and that alone, you and I are blessed.

Romans 8:18
Today, take time to ponder the price and sacrifice and cost the Lord has given for you and your salvation.

Mark 3 Mercy Overrules
verse4 Then Jesus asked them, “Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent

To expose the legalistic heart of His opponents. Jesus heals a man with a shriveled hand on the Sabbath, deliberately forcing a standoff to prove that God’s law prioritizes mercy and preserving life over rigid ritualism
This Song addresses the exhaustion of trying to earn God's nearness through religious perfectionism. With the poignant lyric, "I do not need to earn your nearness, I do not need to prove my worth," it completely strips away legalism to focus entirely on the gentle, saving nature of Yeshua

The Descent Of The Second Adam

What if Eve fell but not Adam? How could they have been joined together with one being sinful, and the other being holy? Ideally, neither were meant to fall; sin is against God's will. Yet, even Adam's joining of Eve in her fall reveals a picture of our redemption. God never meant to be separated from us, but once we sinned, He could no longer be joined to us. Therefore, He came in the likeness of sinful man, and became joined to us in death. For, only by His dying our sinful death could we be joined to Him in His holy life. Paul said it this way: "The two shall become one flesh, speaking of Messiah and the church." If you're feeling separated from God, come to Him today, because God joined Himself to every possible thing that could have separated you from Him. You don't have to be separate anymore. Don't let any sin past, present, or future separate you. For the two shall become one. The mystery is great, but I am speaking of Messiah and you.

2 Corinthians 5:21
Today, come into His presence and don't let anything separate you from your Beloved

Nullify The Pleasure Principle

Scientists use the pleasure-pain principle in animal behavior experiments, by rewarding the behavior that they want repeated, and administering a shock to stop a behavior. The enemy is a master manipulator who uses the same principle to get you to do what he wants. He wants you to associate sin with pleasure: things like lust, alcohol, drugs, adultery, and promiscuity. And he tries to take the things of God that are good for you - prayer, the Word, worship, ministry, marriage; doing what's right, and associate it with painful things, so you'll think of the pain when you are thinking of the good things of God. But if you don't want to be manipulated or brainwashed by the enemy, you have to do something else - live not by pleasure or pain - but by what is right - righteousness. The Lord Himself will give you the strength to do as the great people of God did. Serve the Lord in righteousness, don't follow what is pleasurable, or avoid what is painful. Seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and you won't be the enemy's guinea pig

James 1:14
Today, make decisions based on God's Word, and not by what gives you pain or pleasure. Do what is right!

Cutting Through The Water

Have you ever tried to dive into a pool but ended up doing a belly flop? It's as if the water knocked the wind out of you. It not only hurts, it's embarrassing. The right way to dive is to use your body like a focused knife point that cuts through the water. Ecclesiastes 10:10 says, "When the axe is dull, and the edge is unsharpened, the more strength is required." It's the same principle as diving. When an axe is sharp, it goes right through, because it's focused. Spiritually if you want to go far in the Lord, you have to be more like a sharpened ax. Paul was focused on the Lord. Everything he did for the Lord was pressing on toward the goal. That's why he was used greatly and accomplished so many things. Be like Paul. Focus your life, your energy, your time, and your heart on the Lord and His purposes. You'll be as sharp as a knife, cut through any obstacle in your way to the Lord and you'll never end up doing a belly flop.

Colossians 3:2
Today, allow the Holy Spirit to sharpen your focus and your calling.

The Strong Pursuit Of God

Esau was a hunter, but Jacob was a shepherd. Thus the Hebrew people were a nation of shepherds, not hunters. But Proverbs 21:21 says, "He who pursues righteousness and mercy finds life." The word pursues in Hebrew is radoph. Radoph also means to hunt. We are called to be hunters, not in the woods with a rifle, but hunting righteousness. We're to be a people who are in a godly pursuit, not just comfortable, maintaining where we are. God wants the people who are hungry for righteousness to never stop seeking Him. It's a hunt in which you will guaranteed success with because everyone who seeks Him finds Him. You're going to be blessed when you seek Him with all your heart. There's always more of God than you ever imagined. But you'll never find that more of God if you don't seek it, pursue it, and truly want it with all your heart. So get on your spiritual hunting gear and start hunting for God and his righteousness because the one who hunts after righteousness and mercy will find life.

1 Chronicles 16:11
Today, make it your aim to pursue and hunt for more of God.

What I Did For $200

When I was 11, I wanted a minibike. I worked the whole summer painting houses, mowing lawns, and delivering newspapers. I sacrificed my summer and ended up with about $200. When I went to buy the minibike, my parents said, "I don't think so." But even though they said no, they were impressed I had done so much to earn the money to buy it. You see, the more you value an object, the more you sacrifice for it. Likewise, how much God values you is revealed by the price He was willing to pay. He gave His life. How much do you value Him, not just in words, but in your actions? It's one thing to say you love Him, it's another thing to pay the price. It's what you're willing to sacrifice that shows your heart's desire for Him - your will, your plans, and your life for His. He loved you not just in words, but in sacrifice. Love Him the same way. Let your life be a living sacrifice. Give your all, because all is what He gave for you, and all is how much He loved you.

Romans 5:8
Today, show God how much you value Him by giving Him anything you've been holding back

The Bread, The Prisoner, And The Dance

While in prison for his faith in Romania, Richard Wurmbrand received each day a crust of bread and ration of water. He remembered the Lord's admonition: when you're persecuted, rejoice, for great is your reward in heaven. So he started rejoicing, dancing to the Lord. One of the guards saw him, and thinking he'd gone crazy, gave him an entire loaf of bread. Wurmbrand thought to himself, "How true! I rejoiced, and great was my reward! So he danced again, but this time he didn't get any more bread. Messiah said when you're persecuted, rejoice for great is your reward. Whatever you're going through, rejoice, because you're more blessed than someone who has billions of dollars, but doesn't have what you have. You've been saved from hell. You have eternal life and eternal joy. Whatever the problem is, whatever the persecution, whatever the hassle, the conflict, or whatever thing you're concerned about, rejoice and be blessed. For great and much greater than that is your reward in heaven, and sometimes even on earth, a loaf of bread

Matthew 5:11-12
Today, in whatever your situation, rejoice in the Lord, give thanks and be exceedingly glad

Seeing Your Greener Grass

Human nature says the grass is always greener on the other side. In other words, what you don't have, always looks better than what you do have. But it's an illusion. The grass on the other side looks greener only until you get there. Scripture says something different in Proverbs 5:15, "Drink water from your own cistern, and running water from your own well." In other words, rejoice in the blessings God has already given you and don't focus on what you don't have in your life. The people who are fulfilled are those whose focus isn't on the grass but on the well. The grass is on the outside. A well is about the inside. Joy comes from within; from the things of the Spirit, and the wells of salvation where the waters never end. A life of joy and fulfillment is about finding the well you have right now, drawing from it, and being blessed continuously. So stop dwelling on that grass on the other side. Start dwelling and drawing from the well that is right there on your side of the fence; the wells of salvation.

Hebrews 13:5
Today, don't be jealous or envious of other people's gifts or ministry. Rejoice in and count all the blessings that God has given you

An Angel No Matter What

Angel in Greek is angelos, and in Hebrew, it's malakh. In both languages, it means messenger. When Stephen was taken captive by the Sanhedrin and on trial for his life, he spoke out boldly to them. When they looked at him, his face looked like that of an angel. In the flesh, Stephen was a captive, but in the Spirit, he was like an angel on a mission. An angel that has a mission cannot be stopped or taken captive. Steven was not focused on his situation or his apparent plight, because then he would've been captive. Instead, his focus was on ministering the truth. He was on a mission to use even the trial for his life to share the Gospel. Learn the secret of not being bound up, but instead using every situation for the glory of God. Use every problem as a platform from which to minister, and to shine the light of the Gospel. No matter where you are or what's around you, get on with the mission God has given you. Then, you will be free, radiant, and you'll have the face of an angel.

Acts 6:15
Today, no matter what your circumstances, make it your aim to be a messenger of God's love and truth

Mark Chapter 9 Irreversible Eviction
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”

This is a Frontline Delivery Rescue and Irreversible Eviction. While Jesus was on the mountain, the remaining disciples suffered a severe tactical defeat, failing to cast a spirit out of a boy. Jesus steps back onto the lower field, intercepts a father's raw, unmasked plea, and exposes the entity as a highly destructive "deaf and mute spirit" that was actively jamming the boy’s sensory outputs. Jesus delivers a high-velocity command, issuing an unbreachable, permanent restraining order ("never enter him again")

In this famous prophetic heavenly courtroom scene, Satan stands over the high priest to legally accuse and paralyze him over his filthy condition. The Lord completely bypasses the legalist trap by unleashing a direct, authoritative rebuke ("The Lord rebuke you!"), stripping away the filth to issue an absolute acquittal. Mark notes that the moment Jesus saw the crowd running together, He “rebuked” the impure spirit. He replicates this high-level courtroom protocol in the valley—shutting down the demonic prosecution to dress the boy in uncompromised Kingdom freedom

This soaring, intense warfare anthem is a perfect match for Mark 9:2-25 and Zechariah 13:2. It targets the literal breaking of chains and spiritual oppression, declaring: “Chains are falling... You set me free! Yeshua, my deliverer, my king... No other name can break, no other name has power.”
