I know that GTX 670 is faster than GTX 760 but nowadays I seldom see people going for GTX 670?

Which is better, MSI GTX 670 POWER EDITION OC or MSI GTX 760 HAWK?

Based on MSI website, it seems MSI GTX 760 HAWK (1111MHz) has a higher core than MSI GTX 670 POWER EDITION OC (1019MHz) without overclocking yet.

GTX 670 already comes pack with more shader cores than GTX 760. Clock speed do not signifies as much as that of in CPU. In GPU, the more shader cores and ROPs the merrier, then comes clock speed and memory bus width and speed.

Meanwhile you can compare amount of shader cores between same generation chips, you can't do so for comparison between different graphics chip vendors (as in Nvidia, AMD, Intel) as they all have totally different architecture, as well as between different generations of same vendor (e.g. Nvidia Kepler to Nvidia Fermi) as they are fundamentally different too. :)

People nowadays don't go for GTX 670 is because:

1. They are mostly OOS everywhere, tough to find.

2. People think newer is better.

3. Don't like clearance 'old' stocks as it implies unavailability of ready stocks for RMA at distros.

But many failed to realise GTX 760 is using the same chip as GTX 670/680 just with an even larger degree of disabled units.

I did read about the part on GTX 670 has more shader cores than GTX 760 and GTX 670 and GTX 760 are using the same chip.

How about MSI GTX 670 POWER EDITION OC and MSI GTX 760 HAWK?

The former still leads definitely. Their differences in shader cores amount, while being ceteris paribus will keep GTX 670 a significant lead over GTX 760 even when they are factory-overclocked to different extent.

Just a side question, any recommendations for a 23" or 24" matte screen monitor with HDMI ports?

AOC i2367FH... matt screen with hdmi ports. $249 or so, irrc.

Do take note while it shows as borderless bezel, it does have an internal bezel once monitor is turned on.
