For me since i'm getting 2($10 off each), paying $170 for a well established brand and it offers something like this

I feel that it's worth the money.Unless u r comparing to normal nimh battery which is commonly approve for races, cost around $50-60 lesser than a lipo with both on the same capacity..

In the long run, lipo will save u more from the maintainence..

But to each and his own, for me..I dont mind paying more for something good..


PS: My bro initially didnt wana spend so much for a battery also until i patiently converted him into a lipo addict..

Those new to rc plane should not buy plane directly from shop first. Don't waste your money like me. Spent so much money crashing. Just go down to punggol field walk opp punggol plaza. Every sat and sunday morning from 730am there will be people flying. Ask around people will recommend you alex. He sell e starter, beaver for newbie who nv ply rc plane before. He will teach u step by step how to control the plane , land the plane ,etc

Average start is about $230 with electronic less radio. For a good start i recommend you buy a good radio which will last you for your entire hobby. From plane to heli to rc boat using same radio TX , RX.

For batt you can buy in bulk directly from factory which will cause you even cheaper.

Hi all,
I a newbie into RC and thinking to take up this hobby but still headaching over which car to get.
Actually i aiming for the TT-01D as i want to take up drift driving but i was recommed the TT-01E. Feedback i received from is the TT-01E is more 'driveable' n easier to control.
The shop told me if i wanted drift, for now i need is just to change the ball bearings n i pretty much set as a beginner. For the rest of the hop-up like motor etc, i was advised to do it at a later stage until my skill is there.
But my frd who having the TT-01D said the D is more value-for-money due to the stock ball bearings,suspension n motor but its a old model which had proven itself....i very confused now...which one is better?

Type E & Type D have both their good but I prefer u get the D-type. It will have most of the stuff u need but be sure to do the following before you go drifting. Change the shaft to Aluminium one. Tires to get HPI T-Drift & PVC. Lock your rear and semi/full lock yr front. All thse will have in drift. Will be at Winniie's later. Can drop by n ask some more.

But a noob qns...when u mentioned 'Lock my rear n semi/full lock my front'...errmmm...how do u do it?It sound technical...
Anyway, as i buying the base set...i going for the Sanwa MX-3S controller which run on 2.4Ghz as tai sing having promo on this model...based on ur knowledge,is this controller good enough? If i remember correctly, it come along with SX-101Z/SX-01 servos.

MX3-FHSS is fine. There are higher end models if you have the budget. DX3R, MX11, 3PKS. Locking the front/rear would involve the bevel gear in the differentials. This can be done with either the following: Use Anti-wear grease/Super glue/stuffing rolled up toilet paper. If you want, assemble yr kit and then bring down to a Drift Meet. Any of the guys will help you.

Sorry for the late reply as i didnt log in recently..Mine is a IFS, not the R version..Just converted it to drift..

My car is still pretty much in stock condition..

kevpaang: If ya going into drifting, get the 01D kit to save you from more headache to do the conversion.Comes with Tamiya esc as well as a sports tuned motor, not forgetting the drift tyres & the LED kit..Change the shaft as well..Whether u wana lock ur front & rear differential, perhaps you can do so next time after u built up ur kit as it will make drifting easier but harder to control..Doing it next time after u started, you will beable to see the difference which is make.

For the MX3 FHSS, i'm using it right now..Got it for $260 from Winnie..Nice little radio..

And well, the total $$$ which i spend on my kit is now around $1.1k..

What kind of stuff u wana get will determine your cost..

Here's my car(Yet to fit in the LEDs for the lights), do note the cover, decals, rims and tyres are all from HPI..

Thanks bros..The decals was brought seperately..Cost me $26 from Taising..Here's the more updated pic after adding a few more decals and leds..Do note the row of LEDs inside the car is my lipo lvc indicator..

Sigh..Can't find the Yokomo Drift Master Limited Edition.....

Yokomo parts isnt that popular locally..

Forgot to add on, recommended servo for drift setup is around 6 to 8kg..If i never remember wrongly, the one which comes with the radio is a 4.1kg..
