Hi all, need some advice from the pros here :(

had a problem with my desktop just now in which it keeps retarting but won't boot

googled and found a solution which is to reseat my RAM, did that and found out that the problem (probably) lie with one of the DIMM slots

note: desktop comes with 2 4gb kingtonddr3 RAM cards, tested both. no issue

question now is: should I just replace the 2 4gb with a single 8gb ram, or send my desktop in for repair (which will probably result in replacing my mobo)

One 8GB ram is less than $50 now. Cheaper than u send in for mobo replacement (unless it has distro warranty then free)

Use a soft eraser and rub the gold color contact. This might help if it is not a ram chip fault, just contact issue.
