Hi shifus,
Sorry for the unclear title, I was not sure how to phrase my question.
I am currently running off a GA-AB-350 Gaming series motherboard.
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-AB350-Gaming-rev-1x/sp#sp
For some time, I have been experiencing issues like games suddenly crashing and blue screens. I have 2 x 16 GB sticks installed and REMtest did not indicate any problems even after various runs. So I alternated running on only 1 stick each time. With only either stick, the system seemed to run well. However, after inserting the second stick this time, the crashes started returning so I am inclined to believe I have found the problematic RAM stick (notwithstanding the conflicting prior experience).
Anyway, I am considering getting new sticks. My current ones are rated 2400Mhz. On the mobo's website, it says the mobo supports up to 3200Mhz but states OC in parenthesis. What does this OC refer to? The mobo or my RAM?
If I were to buy replacement RAM of 3000Hz (which is only 10 bucks more), will it work at least as well as my current 2400Mhz ones, plug and play without further config/OC?
Thanks.
