Its faster to buy locally; probably cheaper too because of import freight charges, etc.

My openelec seemed to be corrupted again. So I went looking for a new install for Pi2 and found OSMC.

http://www.tvaddons.ag/osmc-kodi/

I use the Windows installer to install on SD card.
The file is quite small compared to the whole openelec thing.

But I wanted Genesis, and I need to configure fusion in tvaddons again.

I select the latest version of Kodi to install.

Then found out Kodi dropped opensubtitles bcuz of advertising. Need to go looking for it to install by zip file.

Does the Raspberry Pi 2 have power supply intricacies like the Raspberry Pi 1?

Or does it power well with just one supply directly to the board (MicroUSB) without the need of a powered USB hub to assist powering other attached devices?

I use my Pi as a torrent box and NAS at times, so the devices that are connected are usually 1 external 2.5 HDD.

Now my Pi (1st version) set up is that I use a single good powered USB hub by belkin to backfeed my pi with 1 external 2.5 HDD attached to the Hub. Works well so far, but would be great if I can reduce the number of wires and get rid of the powered USB hub hehe hehe.

from what i read, it is safer to use external power supply even for pi 2

having pi 2 now as mac time capsule with external 2tb powered hdd, works so well

Sent from LGE LG-D802 using GAGT

Yeah i guess so... because u distribute power load and also for fuse matters maybe.

And nice one! Pi 2 is really a capable device! My so called "NAS" is now just 250GB, used old and leftover HDDS, would be great if I can attach something massive like yours!

And it would be great if I can only use one power supply hehe.

We now have a raspberry pi zero at USD 5. That's how cheap our tv box can be. Think twice when you are forking hundreds for your tv box.
