thats the thing, my 4080 runs at 50C memory while gaming and I don't know if the sensors work the same way. Don't get me wrong, I like that amd is selling mid to high gpus at a good price, but the temps just seem much too high, especially when the memory temp junction limit is 105C
Edit: upon looking it up, it seems like AMD reports the hottest/hotspot, while nvidia reports the average. so it's not really a metric that is comparable

Actually any GPU drawing more than 300w on gaming no matter Nvidia and AMD the heat output from the system can heat up the whole room, and worst is those casing weak on airflow. Concerns on memory temp is only tips of the iceberg.

9070 non XT seems underwhelming. Basically 5070 in raster performance but lose in rt performance at the same price.

Think it makes more sense to go with 5070 then if can get at more sane price.

Do let me know where you got the card if you ever manage to get it at a 'sane price'

See how first. The 5070 got such bad review that it's price might drop. It kinda happen to 4080 when it first released. Nobody wanted them
Technically the 4080 msrp was never reduced. Nvidia just let the street price go wild by itself as they slowly cut production. And then they re-released a new variant as 4080 super at the "cheaper" price of usd 999

reviews seem a little all over the place for this launch. will wait to see how pricing settles in the next few months then pull trigger :o seems like my 650w can still tong 9070xt based on hwu full system power consumption numbers (~450w), but will likely still undervolt as even 200w from my a750 is bit too much.

I think a mixture of undervolting and fps cap might help keep the power consumption down
