Anyway i just recontract to this 10mbps plan and they gave me the black modem (2wire 5012NV)

I'm currently using the old silver modem (2wire 2700HG-D) and was wondering will there be a speed diff if i use the black one?

One thing i hate abt the silver one is the slow startup. It will sometime dc when i'm streaming sopcast - happens when there are 2 or more connected device.

Any opinions regarding the black modem?

I have a question, I was trying to bridge the black box aka the 2wire 5012NV. However, I can find the routing function and when I found it, it asked for a technician password. Anyone know what is the password? Thank.

Use your torrent program to limit the upload speed, and connected seeds.
It's your settings that choking the modem.

Can ask you all, delivery of modem got included installation or just pass you only ? :)

And when they changing your plan from previous speed to 10mbps, there will be a downtime for your Internet right ? Roughly how long ah !

I don't think there will be any downtime.

Been through upgrade from 1mbps > 3mbps > 10mbps. :o

I was offered the $5 rebate but it wasn't reflected in my latest bill. Just called up 1688 and they will get someone to call me back. Anyone faced this problem?
