Truth be told it wasn't easy getting to the customer retention dept, there is no option that one can press on the number pad & get to SingTel/SingNet's CRD directly = one had to press the number pad lotsa times in different combinations to navigate through SingTel's numerous consumer offerings. No point & click.

That said, I managed to navigate the labyrinth of 1688 to the CRD dept & was lucky to be assisted by a good CRO.
And that's how I get to continue 10 Mbps@S$23.45 per month for another year. On a new 2Wire 5012NV-002
And he offered mio TV for another 6 months + 2 x US TV Packs for 6 months......
I wish I wish both were FOC for 12 months! =:p

Your disconnection is due to wireless or adsl line quality no good? Get the fact straight, pls.
I know my facts. Just that you don't.

The singtel technician had already came down and confirmed my black modem is faulty which was why i kept getting disconnected or have no broadband link. Anyway just a warning to people who gets the 5012nv modem, you might have a faulty modem if your broadband signal keeps dropping.

Not many thing because expensive is means good either :s13:

The correct term should be finding a plan that provides the user with the best return based on the usage level.

Err, you need to read more into the lines.

Actually, how do you determine that your new modem is faulty?

The best way is to try with another modem. Having said that, not many has backup modem. Understanding the light indicator on the modem could help in narrowing down whether modem is the culprit. But that would be rather difficult unless u have experience in handling modem

In the past I had 2 2wire modem-routers, both spoilt after they are out of warranty (and when I'm still signed up on Singtel ADSL).

1yr Warranty on 2wire modem-routers, when I was on 2yr plans.

Gotten the 1st 2wire sorted out by paying 50SGD service fee /w replacement parts (thats after 30minutes of bargaining).

2nd 2wire just throw away and get a dlink ADSL modem-router (502B or something)

BTW, the dlink ADSL modem-router cost like 48SGD, bridge-able, but requires another router for NAT + wireless functions. Still better than paying for 2wire out-of-warranty servicing.

I have been with SingNet after i gave up on SingTel Magix... the router i used for SingTel Magix, a Efficient 5660 which i just gave away before CNY, barely 2 months ago... it was still in working condition, just that it is unable to support ADSL2+. Along these years, SingNet gave me 2wire1700hw, 2wire2700, 2wire2701 and the current 2wire5012nv. The 2wire1700hw also in working condition but too bad it cannot support ADSL2+ so it was given away too. I still holding on to the 2700 and 2701, they are my spares... just in case i need them to test my line.

All these 2wires, i keep them switch on for 24/7, either they are good tough hardware or there might be something seriously wrong with your house electrical wiring and load distribution. You may wish to get a qualified electrician to test and check for you.

Not that they are bad hardware, but I just have little luck with them.

Its always about burned mobo, despite this being a DC powered device...

Yet my my dir 502B (now motorola cable modem) and dir 615 (old starhub router) has been chugging 24/7 for more than 2 years, no issue yet. but I doubt they will last longer than 3 years.

How do u guys find the web UI of the 5012NV-002?
The response seems very slow compared to 2701HGV-E.

Ok, then I shall check when they deliver. I did ask the customer service operator when they called me to confirm about faulty Modem. They said i can only call in to request for another one and the delivery guy will not know anything.

Unfortunately I will not have time to go down and change if it is really spoilt.

no issue here, in fact is better latency comparing to previous 8mbps.
