My 8bmps when tested on
speedtest.com.sg
can get about 10.5mbps.
The technician told me 10mbps can hit 14mbps.
Any 10mbps bro can share their speed test result?

Not everytime you can get that kind of speed. The most I can get on wired is 11m and wireless ard 10.5. Avg is 9m+ for wired and 8m+ for wireless.

I live at 5th floor. Can get wireless at the coffee shop opposite my block across a road. Not too bad for 2 wire. Drink coffee and surf the net.

I have limited option with Miotv bundle unless I dun watch Miotv.

Oh MioTV.....agreed.

Just checking, assuming M1's $29.95 50mpb fibre plan comes back. Which is more worth it?

Singtel also need to factor in about $10 for the phone line right?

Am on its current 6mpbs plan and thinking of upgrading soon.

I jumped from SNBB 10mbps ($23.45/mth) to M1 50mbps 29/mth. It will be worth it if ONT (fibre point) is already installed in your home.

Singtel phone line is $25/3mths + usage charges.

Fibre optics more stable than ADSL?

Thanks. Just got mine installed last week.

Might check out M1 offers during the upcoming Comex, don't mind switching if the $29/mth is available.

hi bros, just recontracted for the $23 plan and was given the 2wire 5012nv modem router.
No usb cable was provided.

Just want to check if anybody who got the same router, did you receive an usb cable in the box?

Recontracted S$23 plan ? I'm still within one year, you means can continue from current ? Do I need to call before due date or auto re-contract , CS will contact us ? kindly let me know.

Think you need to wait till your plan is expiring or has expired.

For my case I emailed them before CS called me.

Dear 10 Mbps subscribers,

1) May I know what your Broadband/DSL uplink link speed is?

Mine is 1023 kbps, and I suspect that is what is preventing me from reaching 1 mbps in actual bandwidth. Max actual upload bandwidth is around 0.8x mbps, which is about right given the link speed of 1023 kbps.

Wish to hear from others if it is also the case.

Thanks.

- I am now using 2wire 5012NV.

- Previously when on 3 Mbps, I don't recall seeing my uplink DSL link speed as exactly 350 kbps. I can't remember exactly, but it should be more than 350 kbps (either 4xx or 5xx kbps), and hence I had no problems getting actual bandwidth of 350 kbps (i.e. I wasn't limited by the DSL link speed).

- For downloads, no problems getting actual 10 mbps since my link speed is 21999 kbps (more than 2 times 10 mbps).

2) Also need some help from those using 2wire 5012NV. What is normal/good DSL line characteristics? Asking because I just re-did the connections for my home telephone wall socket, and I have no idea if the signal is good. Here's mine (roughly at the time of this posting):

......................................... Down Up
Rate:................................. 21999 kbs 1023 kbs
Max Rate:.......................... 25540 kbs 1216 kbs
Noise Margin:.................... 10.9 dB 12.6 dB
Attenuation:...................... 5.5 dB 3.8 dB
Output Power:................... 17.9 dBm 12.4 dBm
Interleave Delay................ 4.55 ms 5.94 ms
Impulse Noise Protection.... 0.68 0.91

Apologies for misalignment. Can anyone enlighten if the above are ok/good? Thanks.

1023 is correct value
1Mbps is with inclusion of overheads this time.

I see. So you're saying 10Mbps download does not include overheads, whereas 1Mbps upload includes overheads?

Do you know if it is only for 10Mbps or all other ADSL plans?
Would be interested to hear from others.
