hi would like to know of the exchange of the modem. Because my modem is kind of buggy I guess after I flash my old 2Wire firmware to the latest Qwest firmware.

So Can I request for a change of new modem for me?

Why don't you just call up their Cust Svc line and ask for your broadband re-contract eligibility, then if available for re-contract ask to be transferred to the retention department and ask for the $23 promotion. Not hard right? :s22:

Qwest is an even older firmware. And no, because you self void your warranty doing something you shouldn't have.

the 2wire is a commodity by now. I am sure the contractor handling the 2wire boxes wun be bothered to check. Maybe just show singnet bill, can exchange 1-to-1, then chao liao?

i second that. what's a phone call!?, maybe too much social media created that fear/reluctance for a direct contact...

Hi guys,
My 8mbps plan ended on the 18th of this month. I called 2day n requested for the retention dept.
I told the staff tt my 8mbps plan ended and was considering either to switch over to another ISP or upgrade to 10mbps. I also emphasis the point tt I haf been a long time Singnet customer.
The guy instantly told me tt there is the 10Mbps for $24.45 plan with free modem! And here I m, waiting for them to call me next week!

YAY! Thanks guys!

Just to share my experience. Thanks for Bro sinafteh for directing me to this lobang.

I couldn't find any better offers online except the 6 MPBS recontract and recontracted with them via phone. That same night, I got wind of this 1 year contract 10 MBPS from Bro sinafteh. So I called them to cancel the 6 MBPS contract. It took a lot of time to finally get the message across but here's the main arguments I put forth.
1) My contract ends Apr 2011. So even if I cancel, I should not pay any penalties even though I cancel now as the new contract has not started.
2) Expressed extreme displeasure on why Singnet is so intransparent on the deals and offers and why it is so hush-hush.
3) Then threaten to TERMINATE the plan. Yes, unfortunately, this does seem to be the keyword....
4) The CSO from retention then called.... Interestingly, the first thing she asked me was, "May I know where did you find out about this offer?"...

Hopefully, this may help some people out there who are looking for a good deal or those who have a "fear" of calling them. And that you don't have to do step 1 and 2 like what I did... All in all, the whole thing took 3 days to finally close this issue.
However, if you have started a new contract, then I think it is more difficult...

With this offer plus bro sinafteh's offer on Starhub, I managed to save ~$50+ per month. Maybe we should put up a tracking number somewhere... Like how the coupons website always display $$$ saved etc... Haha...

Hello~? This is such good offer supposedly to be a last-resort catch-all customer back deal. Of course supposedly cannot be open about it.

You talk too much rubbish later they remove this promo then next yr ppl and you yourself wont be able enjoy price anymore.

Must act 'genuinely' as a customer wanting to "TERMINATE" due to high price what.
