Re-contract Singnet 10 Mbps?

I was on an old 3mbps plan previously, using a non-wireless modem.
That's why they threw in a wireless modem for me.
Maybe your current modem is already wireless, so they refuse?
Or it depends on individual CSO?

Ya, I'm on the old 8mbps speedtouch modem, wired, told them and still they refused to give me the wireless modem.

Is your Speedtouch model 536v6. If it is you can get the linksys wrt54g to connect to it and use the linksys as a wireless router. Both combine is even better than ST give you the 2wire modem. The reason is the 2wire wireless signel tends to drop when in operation.

ST gave me 2 sets of the 2wire modem when I re-con and both have the same problem. Bring and change a new set also same problem.

The setup is very easy only, if not wrong is 3 steps only. But I cant remember the steps as the document is in my office. The steps I have input somewhere in the thread but under which post I not sure.

2) Linksys: DHCP turned off, RJ45 cable from ST536 is plugged into one of the LAN ports (not WAN/Internet port)

Ok thanks, just trying, I access the ST536 using 192.168.1.254. Is this correct? But couldn't find any options for router or DHCP. Where is it located?

I'll get the linksys router soonest possible but anyway how to access its configuration? TIA.

By default the st536 dhcp is "ON". Just set your linksys will do. Default for linksys is 192.168.1.1 and if you reset it you can go straight into the menu without any password. Linksys router got quite a number of version. My is ver 7.

no its not possible. $23 is for RE-contract price.

I got it same model as you but not sure about the version. But 1 thing the wireless signal sucks leh. I disable it and use my old linksys wrt54g as a wireless router. Signal is so much better.

Why wrt54g seems to b the classic router huh... Like at least around for 7 years liao yet many still say its signal strength and stability beats many newer routers.

Been using this for 8yrs since my SNBB 1MB plan. Then upgrade to 3MB, 8MB and now 10MB still using it. Too bad is if I switch to FO, don kn what router to use liao.

From 23.45/12mths with phone waiver&modem to no waiver/with modem to no waiver/no modem., all within 1 year.
