Before and after installing the driver, i can't seem to get my brand new mic to work.. the windows volume control for mic is greyed out, so i can't change the volume.

The realtek hd audio application doesn't have option to change mic volume either. anyone can help ?

I compared the corresponding v2.21 from Realtek and I found no differences except that all "HD" is replaced with "X-Fi" in the INFs. Even HDMI got renamed as X-FiMI. I've also quickly looked through the CRC32 values of the binary files (dlls and exes) and found no differences either.

Essentially, this "mod" is just a rename to allow the installation of X-Fi MB?

Incredible! Does wonders to the on-board sound. Felt the difference immediately with my Altec Lansing 5021 speakers. Thanks!
