Any taipei driver to recommend for Jiufen route?

Have contacted a couple of drivers like Ah Hao and Kevin but all booked already. Very last minute on my part though. Already booked my taichung driver 3 months in advance, but last min change of plans so got to find a Taipei driver Traveling in a week's time.

I engage Mr Wang for my trip to Jiufen, Shifen and Jinguashi. I find him quite nice and good. His charges are NT$3500 for 8 hrs, for additional hr it will be additional NT$300. Just told him where u want to go and he will bring you there and at the same time explain to u abt the historical history. Do ask him to help u purchase firework if u r at Shifen as he is able to get local price which is 50% cheaper. Btw he is driving Toyota Wish.

i took the journey from ximending to airport at 900 too. so it's reasonable.

Just returned from Taiwan yesterday. Best driver who that i engaged in Taiwan so far. Been to Taiwan and engaged so many drivers. But this time round i am going to stick with him whenever i return to Taiwan as he will travel all around Taiwan. He is the one who will go the extra mile to make sure your trip is a pleasant and enjoyable one. Will bring small gifts for you to make you feel welcomed.

Most importantly, he will not bring you to those fancy restaurant or shop just to earn commission. He is a driver with integrity and customer service spirit therefore with him around i have a sense of security of not getting cheated and paying extra. There is one time where i bought something from Jiu Fen and the shop owner gave him 200NT as commission which we do not know of. But Kevin came forward to me and wanted to pass me the 200NT he received and told me honestly that he received this 200NT as commission so he wanted to give it to me to make my product cheaper. I was touched by his action and told him to keep it as this is the shop i wanted to buy from as well.

He also help me bargained with shop owners for the best price as well and also hint to me stay away from some shops when he find the pricing is too expensive. He drives with a smile on his face and will introduce places along the way and it's up to you to decide whether you want to go or not. He will not force you or insist that you should go.

Travelling by his taxi will not make you feel tired or bored. From time to time, he will treat you some finger food at the night markets. He is more like a friend than a tour guide seriously. I encounter drivers who brings you to your destination and stay put in the taxi and you shop yourself. But for Kevin he is different, he will shop/walk together with you and take picture for you and your group along the way with his phone and send it to you at the end of the day.

Best of all, he know alot of secret places for nice scenery even some locals taxi drivers do not know of! So your photos will be different from others hahaha!

Strongly recommended to engage his service. If you are not sure of where to go and where to stay, feel free to ask him as he will give you his advise on how to fully utilize the trip instead of spending lots of time just travelling in his taxi. Thumbs up! Planning to book him for March's trip already.

Can anyone suggest a driver with a car suitable for 3 adults and one 3yo child (with 3 mid size luggage)? We will need pickup from TaoYuan Airport before travelling to SML / TC for a few days, and then drop us at a hotel somewhere near TMS to end the service.

I am asking because the drvier contacts I saw on HWZ / TA seems to have larger vehicle (hence more expensive) which I thought is a overkill for our group.

So I am thinking a 7 seater Wish might be suitable for us, since the only high ground we are going to is CingJing Sheep Farm.

Actually Taiwan Taxi drivers in general are very honest and responsible people. Haven't met one that pissed me off throughout the trip

Just returned back to SG from Taiwan. Booked 2 drivers for two different days.

He picked us up at Taichung HSR station and provided each of us with a bottle of water. Very fatherly driver and he really knows his facts well. My friend was coughing during the ride, and he later on passed my friend a packet of plum(?)/herb that helps in reducing cough. Very thoughtful imo. Booked him to bring us to Rainbow Village, 新社古堡, 薰衣草森林, 心之芳庭 and Fengjia Night Market. Carton King was supposed to be in the schedule but we were all too tired from the overnight flight that we decided not to go in the end. He also brought us to 菇神新社觀景餐廳 for lunch - lovely place for good mushroom hotpot though I do think that he gets a little bit of commission from it. Doesn't matter because the food was really good. Not a very very chatty driver but he's someone nice and comfortable to chat with. Will definitely recommend him because he took care of us (ladies) really well.

Arranged to pick us up at our hotel. Brought us to 南雅奇崖, Shifen, Jiufen, Golden Waterfall, Ying Yang Hai, 頭文字D (some road/route whereby the movie was filmed at). Since we had some time left, he also brought us to 微熱山丘 (recommended us the best taiwan pineapple cakes in town) - pretty sure he doesn't own commission from this and the tarts were really good and Chia Te (because my friends wanted to grab some snacks from the shop). I would recommend him because he actually brought along his super pro camera and helped us take a lot of photos during the trip. Very amazed and impressed by the quality of those photos! We also booked him for airport transfer, and he actually developed some of the photos of us (+saved the rest in a CD). Friendly and funny driver.

Paid NT$3500 for 8 hours.

吕至峰's car was pretty clean if I never remember wrongly, no weird smell or whatsoever Service wise I am quite satisfied. He's not the kind of driver who will tell jokes, but he's definitely someone you will feel comfortable talking to. Basically chatted with him everything under the sun hahaha. As mentioned, I think he's a very fatherly man. Will recommend him for Taichung services, not quite sure if he does the Taipei route though I did hear him say he has to pick up another group of travellers the next day at Taoyuan Airport.

let me share my experience at taiwan for my trip this time.

planned to come taiwan btw 29/10 to 1/11 but felt too short stay so extended to 3/11 instead. (yup. im still in taiwan now!)

i tried contacting a few tw drivers before i camr over. googled, done research by reading forums and blogs recommendation.

out of 5, 1 (Mr Huang) gave me wrong info about the 花市 i wanna go. 2 (Mr Lins)couldnt make it. 1 (Mr Liu 小奕) willing to bring me around several places after discussing with me. 1 ( Ah xin) only replied me after 2 days (no complains, benefit of doubts that he might be working too).

I read about 小奕's services in this forum which happens 2 yrs' back but i would give the benefit of doubts and i did clarify with him ( he is quite open to talk about it too) that it was his another 2 cx feeling unwell on the day of incident, thats why he have to ask for replacement to send the affected couple around instead. 小奕 doesnt know english well, how would he check this forum that are full of english? It was his customers translate to him when they came to taiwan.

Anyway, back to my experience. 小奕 suggested me several places to go as i've not planned my schedule at taichung before i fly (kinda impromptu trip) and he would check with me whether have i booked my hotel at taipei, what time is my flight reached taipei and check whether i needs him to book any hotel or minsu at taichung not.

So he assisted me with several bookings of my minsu stay at taichung and brought me around to those places i needa to go. as im alone, he accompany me to help me takes photo at 花市 and the lavendar forest. no time frame set of the duration of my stay at the places of interest too. He charged me cheap for a 9-seater car at the price of nt6000 for a day (11am to 4pm) .

The experience with him was pretty good one as he is friendly and knowledgable towards the places of interest. If you wanted cheap and good places to stay, he would be able to help too. His responses to whatsapp was pretty fast too. I believe that things have changed and he was better at handling issues currently.
