So far I didn't gave any tips to the drivers and I don't think they expect tips also.
I hired 阿辉 (+886988090976) and also 布丁 (+886955577675) for my 7 days with my elderly parents. We went to Taipei and Taichung many areas.
Both of them happened to be good friends who recommend customers to each other if either is booked. At first I was quite skeptical, but I would say both of them are really very nice and good! 阿辉took us for 3 days Taichung and 布丁took us for 4 days Taipei.
First of all, they took care of my parents very well. My mom can't walk for long distance and they are always mindful of that, making sure the alighting points and picking points are convenient and the places recommended for travel is not so straining for her legs.
They gave very good recommendation of local dishes, especially 布丁! And this is very important as my dad is very particular about having good food!
They were helpful to help us take photos too!
We had lotsa fun together! I would say that I am very blessed to take them as drivers making the trip more enjoyable!
Prices are reasonable especially for such high standard service.

Need to clarify sumthg with those who have used 阿輝's services before, is he only available in taipei? Because i wechat him, he says for taichung he will be recommending someone else instead. For 4k/10hrs, not bad price imo. Just would like to know more. Tia!

The rates were nt3500 2 yrs ago for a wish. With lower fuel price now, see whether you can get this price.
I have a hard time deciding on a driver, but then recently 阿辉 (+886988090976) has been very popular, therefore I chose him. And one thing I regretted is that I did not book him longer... His car can sit up to 8pax (Ford-very new bought in Sep) very spacious and comfortable for Long rides, and he can bring you to anywhere in Taiwan. I met his teammate 布丁 at Sun Moon Lake, and another teammate who sent us to airport. So do not be disappointed if he is busy, I am sure his teammates are as good as him.
I booked him for 7 days starting from Taichung to Kenting, then to Taitung (Green Island), after that Hua Lien, to Cing Jing (HeHuan Mountain), and back to Taipei. I would not go into details, but we had fun. Maybe due to our age are not far apart, most activities he will join us. Have fun with us. And if he is still using his Samsung Note 7, he take amazing pictures and videos. You can see his Facebook (李昭輝) for the amazing pictures.
I always sat at the front row with him, so we chat most of the time. He is a very responsible person, when customer is unhappy even if is not his fault, he will try his best to make them feel better. I was bleeding after paintball session, he insisted to go buy bandages at nearby pharmacy. Before taking ferry to Taitung, he bought us medication for seasick. When our seats were snatched by other tourists in a restaurant, he got it back for us. He is willing to go an extra mile to accommodate to our travel itinerary, and if possible sacrifice his sleep for us. He is good at story telling too.
All in all, treat him good and he will treat you even nicer. You will not regret booking him. Him to us, from a driver, to a Friend, Brother, 奶爸.
A recommendation for 4 pax Travellers, no doubt price will be higher than wish, if you are travelling out of Taipei, I suggest his car would be better, more spacious, and good to sleep. My Wife and friends were sleeping most of the time at the back.

I would greatly recommend this driver by the name of 陳伟豪 aka 可乐 from taipei. He has great knowledge of any part of Taiwan. It was a great experience. From driving skills, photo taking, price. He went till the extend that every location we go he will come down of the car and guide us, intro them in details to us. For what I know, driver there only work from 9am to 6pm. But for him, he went all out for his service for both days till 8-9pm. If you need to engage him for your Taiwan trip. and definitely the price is affordable and you wont regret it. I just asked him 2 weeks back, got this price quoted by him, for 2 pax (nt3500/9hrs, nt4000/10hrs). Didn't enquire about the type of car though.

I would like to recommend our taiwan driver I engaged recently in November for 8 days. Name - 陳韋豪( Chen Wei Hao) or Kele (可乐） his nickname.

I engaged him for our trip in Taichung - Alishan - Cingjing - Hualien - Yilan and back to Taipei. Kele is a skilful and experienced driver whom I can entrust in driving along the some of the challenging terrains in Taiwan. Prior to the trip, Kele has been very approachable and responded to my questions via whatsapp prior. He even whatsapp call me to provide some clarifications on the trip details. He arranged the itinerary and shared with me via whatsapp and made adjustment according to my preferences.
Not just so, he is a great guide who takes good care of us. He opens the door for us when the door is facing the outer side of the road to ensure our safety. He ensures he parked in spots that are most convenient for moving of our luggage especially when we are changing minsu every few days. Small actions but this shows his level of attentiveness and effort. He also takes great lengths to take photographs for us which I find are really very good. He even teach my parents who are older to make some funky pose for great photos. Kele even made a montage of our trip and shared it with us for memory sake which is really sweet of him.
Kele is knowledgable in guiding and even accompanied us in most of the spots to provide us background information of the places we visit. He is not particular about the hours and there has been days where he dropped us back after 7-8 pm. He is more concerned about us covering the key places to visit and inject great energy to the trip which made it more special than the past drivers i have engaged. Would recommend him to anyone who wants to engage a driver in taiwan but do check with him earlier on his availability!

my experience is totally different from yours, perhaps he only treats female passengers nicer.
will not recommend him at all.

I am sorry to heard that you might have the bad experience earlier.
Don’t really understand why would you make such comments or just because blatantly mean comments intended to illicit a reaction from others?
Usually the best way of to deal with those mean people are just do nothing and ignore them, but the reason why I think I should react on your comment is I don’t like to be accused wrongly when our intention is just simply want to share our own experience. ( Furthermore there are other people whom also have the pleasant experience I had recently)
I do understand that there are always a certain group of people in the forum(or any) who like to be deem as an expert but will not share what they know; yet like to spot the not(mistake made by others) to reassure their position thou.
