I would like to comment abt Xiao Yi unprofessional service. After reading all the reviews here, I decided to hire him as early as 2 mths ago thru whatsapp. Everything is confirmed.

And yet on the very last week before i depart for taiwan, he whatsapp me saying that he has another assignment to see to and our dates clash, he ask if I'm ok to change to another driver. I disagreed mentioning that I already pre-booked, why do I need to cater to other ppl needs, then what is the use of pre-booking? He then mentioned that its ok, he will still service me.

In the end, when I reached taichung, he once again whatsapp me saying something has happened to his brother, and he can only service me one day.

Just sharing my experience, since everyone seems like having good comments abt him. just a gentle reminder not to blindly follow what other commented is good.

Anyways, for the rest of the 2 days, I engaged another driver named Xiao Xie. He is great and humorous, of coz, if you would like to try it out, then you can contact him at +886 986 173 400 or +886 980 585 228

My rate for Mr Chiang's taxi team was NTD3000 per car for abt 12hr drive to Keelung, Pingsi, Pitou, Jiufen, Jinguashi then night market then back hotel.

Quite good and knowledgable about many places. They even argue where to go faster and which eatery is better! Funny and arguing with his peer drivers in hokkien in army style via radio comms.

Very considerate and prompt eg. My kids wanna pee or poo, he quickly pop by 7/11 for us and very polite too. Thumbs up for Mr Chiang's team!

I took Mr Chiang (姜長旺)'s 1-day service when i was in taipei last week and he is quite good, he mentioned he is a ex-tour guide who has been driving taxi for 10 over years. I paid NT $3200 for the following iternary :

I was suppose to have a 4d3n in taichung. first day was free and ez but he insist to send one of his colleague to fetch me from HSR. Then keep asking me where I am going and say if hired one whole day will be NTD2000. In the end the colleague he recommended doesnt really know the place to go, and ended the trip at ard 4.30pm, where he claim its whole day. :/

Next day he drove me from taichung to SML, take boat take cable car, den head over to the GuanXi Paper factory (no admission fee but dont bother to go, boring max, showing you how paper is made), den to the puli winery, also nth much to see..den 4.30pm reach cingjing minsu. (Not even whole day again).

I actually booked starry minsu and even made payment, he asked me to change to FengQing Minsu, claiming that he can drove me up to starbucks at night more conveniently if stayed there.. Everything he also wanna make decision for us. :/

And throughout the trip when I first step into his car, he is telling me how popular he is among all the cab driver, even hint me saying got one customer gave him a SGD60 bucks ang pow, saying his service v good. I personally thinks that he is a bit dua pao and hao lian la..

Then 3rd day bo bian thru some friends got to know Xiao Xie, and I really want to compliment him for the service.Not saying that I am advertising for him, but its the sincerity that counts. He cater to our needs and have us some peace when we need to, but not bla bla bla during the whole f. 3 hrs journey...

Xiao Yi quoted me 11500 for a 3d2n itenary

1st day - Taichung-sml-cingjing
2nd day - He Huan Shan- qing qing grassland - carton king - swiss garden - taichung
3rd day - carton king in taichung - Xin Zi Fang Ting - Xin She Gu Bao - Gao Mei wetlands den back to HSR.

He only fufilled the 1st day. :/

Maybe he really got something on, but its really too hard to believe that. Really a bad experience.

3d2n for 11500 is cheap i guess. i've had quotes from other drivers for 2d is already more than 11000 (think it's 8 or 9 seater).

Xiao Yi is quite young right? Think i came across his fb or something. From the way he handles emails and transactions, i feel he just started out not long ago.

I intend to book him for one way transport only. Was about to confirm him when I saw your post so a bit hesitant. Guess I will still give him a try but will standby another contact in case he fly my aeroplane.

My trip's in dec. I will post a review of the drivers when I return

Managed to book Mr Zhao for airport to hotel and hotel to airport transfer. He charges me a bit more for return trip as I'm leaving from Beidou but that's OK.

Unfortunately both Tiffany Li and her husband are booked for the 2 days I can spare for Taroko Gorge.

Any one with good cabby to recommend for Hualien ?
