I believe most of us rely on good reviews halfheartedly and take note of bad ones. In fact that's what i do too. But good ones i seldom share unless i'm free. LOL But since i did engaged 小亦 4 days ago, i shld share my 2cents.
Anyway i engaged 小亦 for a day tour in Taichung (TC) on 1st Nov with only my gf and myself (2pax) as passenger.
Originally we arranged for 2 days. Unfortunately the group before us extended his services for 1 more day. Thus we only went around TC with him for 1 day.
He got us a replacement driver, which was fine with me as long there is a taxi driver driving us around those scenic places in TC and most imptly the $$ amt didn't change.
I had checked on google map, those scenic places are far apart. Initially 小亦 wasn't the 1st choice. I had contacted those that my frens had engaged b4 but they were all unavailable due to short notice becos i contacted them ard 2 weeks before my departure. So i just gave a shot anyway, what is there to lose rite?
He is a young driver, in his late 20s. He is not those quiet quiet ones but neither is he very talkative. Quite informative as he knows the places well. He is very helpful too. Helping us to call our hotel (which we book thru agoda, not thru him) to enquire if the hotel got organize bus to TPE etc, asking for the hotel venue etc. Although its a simply gesture, how many taxi drivers does it for you rite?
He even board the Sun Moon Lake ferry ride with us to intro us the places, ask if your taxi driver does that?
He is very proactive in replying watsapp and recommending hotels or shops because he can get cheaper rates when he engage the hotels for you and he knows roughly the hotel room is small or roomy.
When i told him that i had booked CityInn, he told me that alot of Singaporeans book CityInn and the rooms are tiny! True enuf, in TC, there are other bigger hotels. He usually ask for 10% of the whole amt as deposit because just like you yourself, he also scare u put him aeroplane!
Overall i will recommend him even though i'm a choosy person I know the kind of standard i demand. He is a decent taxi driver making a living and i am satis with his service. There are other good/better ones out there but i haven got the chance to engage them so i can't say. Do give him a try if you are are looking for a taxi driver that is not those old old uncle type/if your group is youngsters. I have seen his iPad pics, alot of youngsters! His schedule is very pack too, most of the time he rest 1-2 days a mth.
He told me that someone (in this forum) claimed that she engaged the replacement driver all by herself thats why he also showed me the screenshots. The replacement driver is 小亦's fren and he helped to arranged it!
A lot of mis-comm happened because our mandarin simply sucked and their language is 繁体字 and not the 简体字 we studied in school.
Well, damage already done, he has lost some business due to the a/m reviews liao.
