Is it possible to do such an itinerary with private driver:

- Need someone to pick up from Cing jing in the morning to Jiu Fen (afternoon for 2/3 hrs) then evening send to Taipei?

Any recommendation for drivers and fees?

Had a great 1 day tour last week with Ah Hao. He is a very patient driver and a wonderful tour guide cum photographer. He even bought us fireworks when we were at 十分 for 天燈. At the end of the day when reach back our mingsu, he even waited for us to put our things and give us a ride to our next eat n shop destination. Double Thumbs up for him !!!

Anyone has good drivers to recommend for 5 adults and 2 toddlers in Taichung and Taipei? I need a vehicle which can accommodate 5 adults and 2 toddlers and 5 luggages.
For Taipei is mainly airport transfers.

I was quoted for a 9 pax private mini van for NTD7k (for non-stop journey from Cingjing to Taipei hotel) or NTD8.5k (for 9 hours service, but exclude toll fees, parking fees).

Are the prices reasonable? Was planning to go from CJ to Taipei, or CJ - on route to Jiufen - Taipei..

Recently came back from Taipei and had the good fortune to meet an extremely nice driver named Kevin. Chanced upon this thread and decided to create an account and recommend him.

His rate is 400NT hourly, but he charges only for a max 8 hours which adds up to 3200 NT in total. He does not charge for the remaining hours as there may be jams on the way back etc.

The day started at 9am, and we went to yehliu, ying yang hai, jinguashi, jiufen and shifen, and we reached Taipei at about 6pm. Along the way, we asked if he could allow us to swing by Chiate bakery to pick up some goodies and he nicely agreed to, and did not charge us for the extra request!

He was really nice and friendly, treated us to some local snacks using his own money, and allowed us to walk around at our own pace without rushing. He is also very knowledgable, as he shared information about Taiwan and specific scenic spots as we drove pass it. He even told us that he worked in Singapore many years back and assisted in filming shows, and even provided pictures which he took with Fann Wong and Christopher Lee as proof.

We booked him for our return journey from XMD to airport too, which was 900NT. To our surprise, he even got for us some biscuits from a popular place for us to try. Also, when we parted, he gave me and my friends each a commemorative 10NT coin (globe and map of taiwan at the back), which he said to keep it as a momento of our journey. That kind of service was something that we found especially sweet and touching to round off our whole trip.

We found him very friendly, honest and reliable. An added bonus would be that his taxi has wifi. He drives a 4 seater toyota wish, and has several hello kitty/sanrio decals on the exterior of his cab, so it is very easy to spot amongst the midst of other cabs. My initial intention was to only book him for a day outing to Jiufen & Shifen. He suggested that we could do more for a day, and we ended up visiting Yangmingsan, Yeliu, Jiufen, Houtong and Shifen. On another day trip, we made our way to Hualian. He drove with care throughout, which is important where the journey is long. He knows where the sights are and made effort to explain to us the places of interest. Enroute, he took us to buy local produce. He patiently waited for us at each destination, and on several times, offered us cold bottled drinks when we get into the car. He would also join us and offer to take photos, helped us with our shopping bags and bargain with the sales person. He never rushed through the places but is quick to see to our needs are fulfilled.
Like the above post, Kevin gave us souvenirs which we never expected to receive. His thoughtfulness, patience, and hospitality has certainly given us a wonderful experience in Taiwan. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to do day trips out of Taipei City.

i booked kelvin for my trip next mth. he very helpful when i told him i need help finding taipei hotel. though eventually i found my own, throughout our conversation he very helpful and keep recommending hotels for me... will update you guys when i come back from my trip about his service!

those meter cab is 70twd base price.
if you rent cab a cab, price is based on per car ...

i only rented cab twice in taipei for 10hours plus, four ppl is 3500 twd.
if you take cab from xmd to jiufen +shifen then back tms, i believe the cab price is almost 2000+twd already . we went few more places on top of jiufen and shifen

Took cab from xmd wufengpu is already 220 twd ... 20 min ...

Hi,

I'm looking for a driver that his car is able to ferry 4 adults and 2 kids (age 3 and 6) for 8D7N. I will need the driver to pick us up on the first day at Leofoo resort instead of Taoyuan airport.

From there I have to intent to travel south to Central area such as Taichung, Changhua, Taitung and then southern part such as Chiayi (Ah li San), Kaohsiung (Meinong) etc before heading back to north to Yilan and lastly back to Taipei. I think the most spend 1 night at Taipei (been there before) before heading to Taoyuan airport at 12pm to fly back to SG.

Any recommendation? Am I able to list them a few actual location that I want to go and let the driver plan the itinerary for me? Wish to stay at MinSu at most location except Taipei.

I heard that we have on top of the taxi fee, we have to pay for the accommodation, food and petrol for the driver?

Pls advise. I had booked my air tickets and it is confirmed a go in early Nov.

does anyone know if its possible to hire a cab / approx. charges to just go pingxi put sky lanterns and then go straight to wulai? im gg on a 4d3n trip and hv book one night at wulai for hotspring... my mum suddenly say wanna put sky lantern so hv to squeeze this in for this short trip...

or shld I just one day wulai then next half day pingxi?
