Hi anybody know how to go cingjing minsu from kaoshiung? I've tried to bao che but a driver quote my NT6500 for travelling only. Anybody got lobang? I dont need a driver to bring me to sightseeing places.

I happened to ask my Taichung driver who is bringing me to Cingjing about this as someone from Kaoshiung may want join us for the day trip. He mentioned that the route is far about 2.5h, not advisable to take a cab. His suggestion was to take the HSR from Taichung to Kaoshiung.

Just travel back on 24 Nov2015 from taiwan with family of 6, including 1 teenager age 14, P5 boy, K1 boy and toddler. Only explored north part of Taiwan which is Yilan, stay for 3 night and Taipei, stay for 4 nights. Engaged this driver for third day during our stay in Yilan, save us a lot of travelling time. I recommend him was because he is a mature,honest man and doesn't come across as being too tourist feel. Help to take care my youngest boy

You can try 吕至峰 (+886 9 8775 6967). Very nice uncle who plan itinerary for us with recommendations. When I first contacted him with nearly no plan for a 2 days trip, he showed pictures for his suggested places. He doesn't really follow the brief itinerary like a route but he will fit them into the trip. He also queued to get us the 3 recommended food at Puli.

I was impressed with his response to my initial queries. And having gone on a trip with him, I will say he is worth recommending. He welcomes kids too so he is definitely suitable for family with younger kids.

Just back from Taiwan for a trip 2 weeks back and got to know a driver randomly while booking through the hotel for a one way trip. He is based in Taichung and after-which booked him to drive us from Taichung to Taipei. Very sincere and young friendly chap, endless topics to talk about and drives very carefully which is a plus point. Driving a Toyota Wish so should be able to fit 4 person nicely with luggage or 6 person without luggage. Highly recommended. His pricing also very reasonable. Another driver I got to know during my family trip last year. Based in Taipei and driving a VW 10 seater. Very fatherly uncle and really very sincere in his service, always smiling and make jokes. He even bought my mum some food at Shifen as my mum was a-bit hungry when even I didn't notice and my niece and nephew tidbits as promised to them. Also very talkative so can talk about almost anything. Booked him for a 1-day trip to Jiufen,Shifen etc. Highly recommended too esp if you have a big group.

i'm traveling to taipei from 19/03/16 to 23/03/16 with 2 elders + 1 sibling(total 4).

Any suggestion to go? My mum to like to see mountain see sea but my dad walk abit abit leg will pain.

From what i read is normally ppl go taichung a few days then go back taipei, possible if i remain in taipei all the way and visit place of interest?

My 8 Days trip round Taiwan

Hi friends,

I got to know my driver, Mr Tan (陳韋豪)during my first trip to Taipei where I hired him for a day trip to Jiufen, Shi Fen, Jing Gua Shi, Ying Yang Hai. I had good impression of him as he was humorous and explain in details about each location we visit. When we surpassed the allotted time he did not charge us extra.Towards the end of the trip, he compiled our day trip into a short photo montage and send it to us via WhatsApp.

Due to the excellent experience with him,we hired him for a 8 days round Taiwan trip on our second trip. The trip was very enjoyable as he accompanied us on most of our walking tours, rigorous hikes in Hualien, boat rides whenever the trip allows him to do so. (Most cab drivers will not accompany you on your tours) and he is knowledgeable about each location we visit.

Day 1 –
Tao Yuan County
• Tao Yuan Airport to Daxi Township (大溪老街)to visit the old street and have breakfast and visit Dahan Creek (大漢溪) and Daxi Bridge (大溪橋).

Hsinchu County
• Hexin Train Station (Love Station- 合興車站) in Hsinchu County to take a train ride to Neiwan old street(內灣老街)

Taichung
• Lavender Cottage (薰衣草森林) and Taichung Flower Market (中社花市)
• * GaoMei Wetland (高美湿地) – Must visit if you are in Taichung
• Final stop for day 1 – Minsu near Fengjia in Taichung

Day 2-
Chang Hua County
• Lukang Township (鹿港) – 1 hour E-trishaw ride and guided tour around notable streets and location : Mo-Ru Alley (Breast Touching Alley) (摸乳巷), Longshan Temple(龍山寺), Old Market Street (鹿港老街)

Chaiyi County
• ChuKuo触口 (Chukou) gateway to Alishan - 八掌溪 (Bajhang River), 天长地久 suspension bridge and temple fair.
• Alishan to stay in Minsu (Alishan National Scenic Area (阿里山國家風景區) and enjoy tea appreciation

Day 3-
Chiayi County
• Alishan tour – Watch sunrise and short tour around the national park
• Visit to a tea plantation

Tainan County
• Beimen crystal church (stop over for lunch)

Kaohsiung

• night city tour to watch the annual dragon boat race.

Our Cab Driver - Kelvin Sun aka 孫涟凯 0988-202-513

This trip to TW, we engaged a cab driver, Kelvin Sun aka 孫涟凯 for 6 days to bring us 扒扒跑 @ Taiwan (Taichung => Sun Moon Lake => CingJing => Taipei).

Initially was quite hesitating on whether to get him straight 6 days but i am glad that we've engaged him, it really help us save up a lot of time. Kevin made the effort to walk us around with explanation of the history instead of just dropping us off the destination.

He will also advise/recommend us which shop is reliable to buy with and which shop to avoid. He was the one to help us planned the itinerary and also assistant in booking the minsu which we were very pleased with it.

Kelvin is more than a driver to us, he is also a tour guide/photographer/entertainer and we also have a sense of security travelling with him.

Most importantly, we love his taxi!!! His taxi is plastered with huge stickers of various cartoon characters including my melody, one piece, hello kitty, doraemon, etc. Many ppl request to take picture with his taxi and you have no worries of not being able to find him and his taxi. We will definitely contact Kelvin if we go Taiwan again

My wife and i are having this taiwan trip with this private driver,
Ah wei. ‪+886*973*605*891‬, who was recommended earlier in this forum. Felt that he was very approachable, thoughful, gave a lot of advice and also reasonable with his pricing. In order for us to have ample time to do our many visits for the day, he was even willing to fetch us at 5am in the morning from the hotel. To us, it means a lot because booking fee is on a day by day basis. Much recommended!

Is it year end the rates are higher? (next week gg ) now i am confused as in who to engage and the date of travelling is next week...

Really hope some kind souls over here can advise me or intro a driver to me which the rates are reasonable... (4 pax gg)
i will be staying at Taipei thru out the 9 days.
