Recommend Cab Driver

Hi everyone!!

Need some help over here, i planning to go Jiufen, Jinguashi, Shifen and Keelung (plus yeeliu) .

was recommended a driver by my colic and i called him he quoted me 6000
and thru the forum here i called kevin as highly recommended by some forumers over here but he is fully book till next year he pass me a contact mr pang i called him and he quoted me 5500 .... it seem the price they gave is above the avg of like 4000 to 4500 as mentioned over here .

Is it year end the rates are higher? (next week gg ) now i am confused as in who to engage and the date of travelling is next week...

Really hope some kind souls over here can advise me or intro a driver to me which the rates are reasonable... (4 pax gg)
i will be staying at Taipei thru out the 9 days.

ya.... i did call him yesterday, he pass me the contact 2 months back (mr pang) den he tell me this mr pang is from hualian.. maybe mis comm he tot i staying hualian but indeed this mr pang quoted me 5500 but when i mentioned kevin intro he say 5000 lol.. anyway kevin is trying to link up someone from taipei for me cos i need 2 days for the sight seeing... he did tell me shall be 4000 below

u can try calling kevin although he is fully booked till next year but he will try to help u find a good and decent driver. humble guy as i had spoken to him over the phone yesterday. he gave me losta advice.... and he also manage to find 1 driver for me and the price is reasonable....

Hi, I am traveling to taiwan next yr march.

We are looking for a private guide to bring us ard taiwan ( taichung, kaohsiung and hualian then to taipei).

We have 3 pax for first few days as we are meeting a fren from taiwan there, for the rest of the trip just my wife and myself. The guide quoted us 6k NT for 3 pax and 5k NT for 2 pax per day. Is this the norm now?

As my wife use this guide before 2-3 years back which she find quite good. For that trip, he used to charge 4800K NT for 3 pax. So we quite surprise the price went up 25% more.

How many pax are you going with? He quoted me 4500 for 4 paxs trying to ask him for discount

That's why i will nv engage a taipei drive outside taipei. Just google abit harder you will be able to find local guides. Esp popular route like taichung, hualien. I also believe that local guide will be more knowledgeable than taipei based guide.

Instead of hiring just one guide for your entire trip, why not break it into taichung, kaohsiung, hualien & tpe. Also i doubt you will need a guide within taipei city; more for New Taipei City (新北市). Also most guide cum driver charge by per car per day, the no. of pax sometimes doesnt matter.
