yes. i got mine from xs too. i been using a blue blackwidow for like 5yrs..but recently got a baby daughter and blue switches doesnt work well when she's sleeping. so i need to switch to brown or red. i did some research before getting the leopold fc750r. filco mj2, ducky zero tkl and pok3r was in my list too. actually i did try out pok3r..but the lack of directional arrows really made me pulled my hair. there is an article in deskthority and geekhack that made me go ahead with leopold.

been happy so far. i have a brown ducky zero in my office. but the leopold feels different. it feels firmer & tighter. ducky feels "cheap"..not sure cos of it's plastic abs key caps. the caps does feel a bit shaky on ducky. on leopold..its all firm. another good thing is...my mouse matches my kb. worth every cent. this could be my endgame kb & mouse.

What is a keyboard with good build quality and with Cherry MX red switches? Budget max $150.

Using at office, so not necessary for insane rainbow lighting or fully configurable $200+ keyboards.

I've check the Deck Hassium, but those have only brown and blue switches.

this type of kb is easy to find in SLS. go look for xtreme solution. kb without the number pad are called tenkeyless (TKL). you can google first before going there. they can allow you to try on the kb too.

for TKL mech kbs...there are a few selections i can recommend.

ducky zero TKL - cheapest. iirc ard $120? but the keys can be a bit filmsy i feel. cheap plastic key feeling. i own 1 ducky zero full kb in my office. basic use.

leopold fc750r - my current kb. you can find my pic 2 page back . i "feel" the keys are tighter, firmer and more exp that ducky lol. est. $190?

pok3r - best feel. very very sturdy. no num pad. and NO DIRECTIONAL pad. which can cause a bit of inconvenience. i feel the outlook is the nicest among all mech kbs. minimalist look.

filco majestouch 2 - almost same feel as leopold. but leopold is newer. est. 180?

next....you look at what switches you like. most common are brown switches i think. blue are good too. slightly heavier than brown...but got tak tak tak sound. i used to own a blue switch for 4 years until i got a baby. always wake her up when typing. so need to switch to brown. there are red, black, clear, green...switches too. need to google..

almost all TKL mech kbs look almost similar in build. the keycaps are different if you wanna play around with color. can look for keycaps in taobao. cos they are nearer to us. if you wanna explore deeper...i suggest you go to geekhack.com.

Not sure if you have tested blue rings but it does help a lot in dimming the clanking noise.

thanks. i am not an expert in mech kb just an end-user. but i used filco briefly. the feel is almost the same imo. but leopold more worth...cos pbt keycaps. and leopold keys are blank on "top"..the wordings are on the "front" side. looks nicer imo.

actually i am using mac now. actually any kb can use for mac mah. if you want specific kb with mac command. can go for das or matias.

for me. i am used to "ctrl+c" for copy, and not "command+c". i am an office person. so, just change it in mac kb settings to set the command to ctrl.
