im very new to custom keyboards too so just sharing my 2cents! Starfish should be a linear switch, so i believe there are many in the market! i recently bought the alpaca linears by JWK and they sound really good too. lubing the switches definitely helps with the overall 'sound' and typing experience. Band aid mods i personally feel it does not help in every stab/board design? (someone please correct me if im wrong) Because i ever did a band aid mod for my numpad and it didn't turn out well. It did help in my GMMK Pro though. So just give it a shot!Hi guys, i'm new to custom keyboards and recently thanks to MASH.SG, it open my doors to these kinds of keyboards. Poisonous place.
I kinda like AKKO Starfish switches and i was wondering if there are other alternatives to that kind of feel. If i do build this keyboard, should i get Krytox lubricant as well and also to make band-aid mods?
Sorry if what I've said might sound confusing, just dont know where to start.
TIA!

Most people use Krytox 205g0 to lube their switches and 105 for the springs.Hi guys, i'm new to custom keyboards and recently thanks to MASH.SG, it open my doors to these kinds of keyboards. Poisonous place.

its a really deep hole bro. Btw wad switches u planning for your feker?Just ordered feker ik75, hope I will like it more than my k2v2 layout. First time building so went with the cheaper options to try it before the "deep dive " into this rabbit hole.
I just grabbed from the same shopee seller feker immoral panda lol. Got extra discount.its a really deep hole bro. Btw wad switches u planning for your feker?
Keycaps need not be expensive. Aliexpress has many options for different keycap profiles.buying expensive keyboard is 1 ting.. still need invest in expensive keycaps and wait 18mths is another ting!
Asus logo + reddot award = chop carrot liao, don't even want to touch.
Not yet though. Most people use Krytox 205g0 to lube their switches and 105 for the springs.
Some will also use Tribosys lube for tactile switches, all down to preference.
Band-aids usually is unnecessary these days, maybe still applicable for plate mount stabs if you want the fitting to be tight to prevent any movement that may cause rattle. But for screwed-in or clip-in stabs not needed.
Do you have any boards in mind that you might be building?
