Just finished building my first custom, Feker ik75, with Feker panda, after changing to the included polycarbonate plate and lubing the stabs and switches, it's really Thocky lol. Makes me realise just how bad sounding and feels my pre-build k2vs and ducky shine 3 browns are.

Also, what are the recommended linear switches? Wanted to try experimenting with mixing switches. Going to use it for those arrows, shift keys, etc, so it's easier to hold down.
How's the 2.4ghz USB connection? Stable?

Linear switches can try C3 Tangerines? Perhaps a bit "heavy" for some as the actuation point is 62 and 67gms. Not really fit for competitive gaming I suppose.

Didn't try the 2.4ghz yet, will try it tonight and let you know. How to test the stability though?

It's not for gaming, didn't play FPS for years :ROFLMAO: I do a lot of CAD, and often need to hold those keys down, do you have any other recommendation for a "lighter". thanks~

Can try aliexpress? Just go for the renowned shops even though it might be slightly more expensive. I have not tried the kb but might be planning to get one for fun. Keycaps can get from there too.

Got it. I was beoing the 299 RMB free shipping and kinda gotten an idea.

Anyone tried the mash concept by aftershock ah?
Tried and subsequently researched on the switches. MASH.SG made me go down that deep rabbit hole sia.

Noticed some lag briefly. not sure what causes it though, since my mouse is using a 2.4ghz connection too, and have no issue.
Yes, I noticed this too. The USB needs to be in direct visibility of the keyboard. If there's a monitor, mobile phones, etc it might interfere with the connection. Overall I noticed better responses as compared to bluetooth 5 connection. You can try the latency test at https://blog.seethis.link/scan-rate-estimator/ for fun. I have other keyboards running on bluetooth and its slightly slower.

Last time they tecware all their kb, they got 1 more OEM for their KB, I forgot which. In general, most of their OEM product durability got issues.

They have a good track record of overhyping lousy quality products and I doubt that is going to change, coz easy profits.

Hi all,

Need some advice. Using a Filco Majestouch 2 MX Brown, and need to upgrade to a full keyboard with cable + bluetooth support (for iPad/office laptop etc). No need backlighting etc (although nice to have).

Researched and the best option seems to be Keychron K10 (albeit with stock Gateron switches). Wonder if there are other alternatives to consider?

I have both Filco and Keychron and it feels like a major downgrade in terms of feel, built quality, sturdiness, etc. Perhaps you can try the Keychron Q2 series which seems to be better made or Leopold brands in general are comparable to Filco.

probably get the k10/ RK98 hot-swappable version. Don't think you will be satisfied with k10 switches, it's a downgrade in terms of feel.

If you don't need Bluetooth, can wait for reviews of the upcoming (around May 2022) Keychron Q5.

Many thanks all for the life-saving advice. Will check out Leopold as that ticks the checkbox for me. Q5 is out as I require multi-device BT support. Was looking at the Filco Majestouch Convertible 2 but it's quite a dated design (with BT 3.0), so the Leopold looks better.

Separately, how would you rate the difference between Brown and Red switches? Know that Browns have a hump but wonder if that's discerning in real life.

Can't really rate their difference as they are designed to have a contrasting tactile feel. It depends on your preference for either linear or tactile switches. My preference is brown over red any day, it just feels better to type with that subtle bump.

One thing I would recommend is to try other switches in a retail store like MASH, Mecha store, etc if possible, there are a lot more subjectively better options than the mainstream Gateron and Cherry MX brown/ red. Personally using mixes of tactile and linear switches on my main keyboard. :giggle:

Using it for years. Is good for me.

then you are quite lucky

some time ago my colleagues n I bought for office use, within a few months to a year all had issues. Not to mention the switch isn't good for fast typer, it lifts the caps quite slowly.

anyway, it's nothing new lol.

I managed to get hold of a used Filco Majestouch Convertible 2 keyboard. The interesting thing is that both keyboards (while using MX Browns) have a different feel. The second-hand keyboard has more stiff /scratchy keys, with a more prominent tactile bump. It's irking me and I can't unfeel the keys..

Contemplating of brush-lubing the switches while leaving it soldered. Did some research and appreciate some feedback:

- Tribosys™ 3203 would be preferred, is that correct? Only apply a thin film.
- I am planning to brush lube only the side stem rails, and potentially the lower side of the switch. For tactile switches, the upper side (where the metal leaf and legs are) should be avoided.
