I’m looking to DIY build a new CPU to replace my current CPU. My last build was 7 years ago. I am able to fix the parts myself.
Please advise what will be the best parts to get. I’m looking for reliability, so hopefully it can last me another 7 years. I understand most parts warranty period is only 3 years max.
Asus motherboard, so far Asus has been quite reliable for me.
What’s the key differences between a gaming motherboard against a regular version?
To use AMD or Intel chip. Based on reliability and price difference.
Recommendations for best value for money type of RAM in the current market.
Reliable power supply.
Graphic card for occasional playing of SC2 and D3. Reason for replacement: 1st card XFX broke down after 2 years. 2nd card MSI broke down after 5 years.
Intend to use SSD which I just bought earlier this year.
No need sound card. Have existing DVD drive.
Budget $500++ (mainly for motherboard $200+, chip & graphic card)
Thanks in advance for your helpful suggestions!
