it was based on forum reviews so we just shortlisted these workshops. if you are driving conti car maybe can try MB Autos in Permas Jaya. its near woodlands ciq. Boss is chinese, PA is chindian, workers are mix race. my hubby usually go there a few weeks before to get the car inspected. they will tell him what the problems with the car and what parts to change immediately and what to change later on and then give him the quotation for both. he will then pay half the money for them to order the parts and then he return to SG. a few weeks later my husband and i will enter JB, leave the car at MB Autos in the morning, go shopping at aeon, ksl, spa, massage, medi pedi and then return in the evening to collect the car. we have saved a lot of money doing in JB. good luck and update us on your experience with E DA auto or whichever workshop you choose to go there.
some workshops in SG charge $800 for workmanship. so RM500 is considered good deal. but whether or not their workmanship is good then you have to see later on.
Thank you for your detailed response, grateful for your support on this matter. I am not driving a Conti, but a Subaru Forester and have already contacted MB Auto before. The response from the boss was that they specialize in Conti cars and are not experts on Subarus and suggested I look for another workshop
Spoke to Ah Yuan who is now at E DA Auto, but as suggested by many others before in the thread, his attitude was not very good and was at one point a bit sarcastic
All good as since I wrote to you, I have found a good workshop in JB with a lot of positive reviews on Google with quite a lot of Singaporean car owners choosing to service their cars there. Sharing the link here in case anyone else is looking for a good workshop in JB,

Ah Siang was not physically at this work-shop, but at the other branch in Malaysia and is the main contact person. I was assisted by Jack when I visited the workshop, he managed to diagnose that my car did not have cam or valve leak issues, but rather the work-shop that serviced the car for the previous owner had put too much engine oil in resulting in the false impression that there were cam or valve leak issues with the engine
After draining excess oil from my car engine and doing an engine clean-up to remove the oil residue found outside the cam and valve, the car has been running the past few days and shows no more signs of "leaking oil". I was nearly convinced by a Singapore workshop to send in the car for major engine work where they wanted to replace the cam and valve gaskets for the supposed oil leaks
I will still be sending my car back to RS Auto for other repairs, but their charges and services are so far quite positive from my experience with Jack last week. Hope this will help other car owners who are looking for a good workshop in JB
