Thank you so much but if I was to stick to GTX1050 will I be able to run DotA at the ultra setting because I doubt I will be playing other games. I really appreciate for you to solve my PSU question at least I know what should I go for now instead


I wanted to with the Krait Gaming because I really like the cool LED but then budget wise is really chor on the pocket though

Yep. 1050 is more than sufficient for Dota 2 / light gaming
If that is what your budget permits, it will be fine

For Dota Ultra settings, you should be able to exceed 60 fps minimum regardless of whether you choose an i5-7400 / i3-8100 / Ryzen configuration. You can use these for comparison to find a sweetspot.

Saw that thread, moneyface already indicated if not upgrading it is still cheaper to buy coffee i3 vs kaby i5 so why your final post mentioned he is assuming everybody will upgrade?

Precisely we are aware not all are tech savvy that's why we are telling them to buy coffee i3 over kaby i5. Wrong for us to do that? And what's the post of preowned kaby system for? Lala recommended or rather approved/agreed TS choice of a kaby i5 new system thus the bashing. If he had said to go for cheap preowned kaby lake system then I'm sure moneyface also won't bashed him.

Forum not for discussion/debate and at same time absorb more info then is for what? Everyone just anyhow shoot recommendations and no one is supposed to disagree is what you want/expect?

Discussions between which is better Kaby Lake or Coffe Lake have proven to degenerate into heated debates.

This forum is meant for discussions in a productive manner. It is no fun if someone has to wade through a ton of brickbats just to find the info one needs for a good rig.

Again, this is a warning not to start the Coffee Lake vs Kaby Lake debate. Kaby or Coffee both have their pros and cons when considering the bigger picture.

What about the following built? Is there any recommendation I should consider or any changes that have to be made ? Ideally I will stick to 1050 because the rest seems to cost more

CPU + MB : I3-8100 + Gigabyte Z370N WIFI
Memory : 2x4GB DDR4-2400 (Please let me know if ram brand matters)
GPU : MSI GeForce GTX 1050
Case : Cooler Master Master box Lite 3.1
PSU : Cooler Master MWE 450W

^Don't plan to install any additional fan since the case already has one, or should I get one more?
P/S if there's any mATX RGB casing do let me know

This build should be good enough for now. But if u are a chrome user with 20 tabs or more, you should look into upgrading to 16gb in the future. if thats the end goal, you can go 1x 8gb first for now, even if u get slightly lower fps. I can still get avg of 90 fps on max settings with a 1050ti and single 8gb ram. a 1050 should be around ~20% lower, 75fps avg is still above the 60hz of most monitors.

Dont settle just yet. 12.12 is coming in 8 days time. Local online shopping sites will have major promo going on. Do leverage that to save money or boost your specs. So if you can afford to wait, please wait.

if you still have ur windows 8/8.1/10 key, u can try reactivating... if not you have to purchase a new windows key

if u dun mind the watermark u can just install windows 10 without activating it. otherwise, u can find oem keys online for like 10$

Hi, I have finally built my RIG. Apparently can't wait for the sales as MoneyFace recommended as my Alienware officially died

My RIG Specs will be updated on my profile and surprisingly despite initially I thought i5-7400 was better than i3-8100 but was being shown otherwise to Benchmark. I guess I won't find out which was more suitable for me.
As well as, I said I won't do with AMD.

My final built was probably a different from what I really wanted to have initially.
